Opening Quote: "A sucker is born every minute." – There's a sucker born every minute

Scene: Elizabeth Eiger and her husband, Allan prepare to go fishing at Diamond Lake.

Allan: Honey, if you grab the fishing gear, I'll go rent the boat.
[After renting the boat, they get ready to go out on the lake]
Wayne: Hey, have fun. [He helps Elizabeth get into the boat] Good luck with the fishing.
Elizabeth: [Giggling] Yeah.
Wayne: Remember to put on sunscreen.
Elizabeth: Okay.
[Allan starts the boat and Wayne unties it from the dock. Elizabeth uses her phone to take pictures of Allan]
Allan: You gonna take pictures all afternoon?
Elizabeth: Got to share the fun, honey. Besides, you look cute in that life jacket. [She laughs]
[Allan starts driving the boat]
Elizabeth: Ooh! [She giggles] I'm so excited! Bye! [She waves at Wayne]

Scene: Nick, Hank, and Wu talk with Renard in his office, and Nick tells them about what happened at the restaurant.

Nick: I was only in the restaurant for about five minutes.
Renard: Juliette did this?
Nick: No. Eve.
Renard: Who the hell is Eve?
Nick: She used to be Juliette.
Hank: Used to be?
Nick: She's definitely not the woman I knew.
Wu: This was a planned hit.
Nick: Turns out, I was her backup.
Renard: And you didn't know this?
Nick: No. It was a test. I found that out later.
Wu: A test of what?
Nick: To see if I could survive. Or if I'd protect her.
Hank: You survived and she's alive, so I guess you passed.
Wu: I hope she thanked you.
Nick: She didn't stick around. When I got out, she was gone.
Renard: We know who her target was?
Nick: The guy in the suit. Haven't been able to ID him yet or his bodyguards-they weren't carrying identification. All I know is his name was Samuel Rankin. He was an organizer for Black Claw.
Renard: If he didn't have ID, how do you know all this?
Nick: The guy Eve works for, he told me. His name's Meisner.
Renard: Meisner?
Nick: You know him?
Renard: Yeah, I know him. He's an independent agent working out of Europe. He was working with the Resistance.
Nick: Well, he's here now. And he's running Eve and Trubel, and he was working with Chavez.
Renard: Chavez? So Meisner's a part of this group?
Nick: He's in charge now.
Renard: So how do we explain Rankin's death?
Nick: Well, his bodyguards were closest to him, so my feeling is we blame them.
Renard: If you're gonna lay it on the bodyguards, you better find out who they are.
Hank: So Juliette- I mean Eve, she's not tied to this at all?
Nick: No. She never touched them. Never even came close.
Renard: Looks like they planned this pretty well. Do we know why Rankin was here?
Nick: Not yet.
Renard: All right, make this report as logical as possible. At least your suspects can't object to a murder charge.

Scene: Monroe and Rosalee talk about how they haven't heard back from Nick yet.

Rosalee: Don't you think he should have called us by now?
Monroe: Who?
Rosalee: Nick.
Monroe: Oh, you mean after the Juliette... "reunion"? Maybe it didn't go so well?
Rosalee: I'm sure it wasn't without drama. Maybe we should call him.
Monroe: [Looking at a letter from the mail] You should see this.
Rosalee: What?
Monroe: [He hands Rosalee the letter] Postmarked Seattle, just like the other one you got.
Rosalee: God, now what?
Monroe: Look, I really think we got to deal with this. I mean, if you want me to handle it, I'm happy to.
Rosalee: Let's do it together. [She opens the envelope and starts reading] "Dear R, I thought you might write me back after I told you about Carlos dying. Maybe you don't want to hear from me. But I don't know what you think about what we used to have together. I'm thinking about coming to Portland-" My God, I don't want to deal with this!
Monroe: Hang on a second. This guy is obviously contacting you for a reason. Don't you think we got to figure out why? I mean, he just said he's thinking of coming to Portland. What does this guy want from you? After all this time?
Rosalee: I don't know. He thinks we had a relationship. We didn't. Except the drug part. [She starts ripping up the letter] This is, you know- This is just... so stupid.

Scene: Allan catches a fish.

Allan: Honey, I got one!
Elizabeth: Oh. [She laughs as she takes a picture] That's definitely going on Facebook.
Allan: Oh, please, Elizabeth. No.
Elizabeth: Just kidding. It's going on Instagram. [She sees something in the water] Allan? What's that? [She points]
Allan: What?
Elizabeth: [She points again] That. Something's moving underwater.
Allan: It's probably just a catfish.
Elizabeth: Pretty big for a catfish.
[They see something poke above the water before going back under]
Elizabeth: Oh, my God. It's swimming around us.
Allan: What the hell is it?
Elizabeth: Uh...
Allan: Oh, my God, shoot a picture of that.
[They see a Wasser Zahne speeding towards them with his head above the water]
Elizabeth: Uh... [She takes a picture. She gasps as the Wasser Zahne goes back underwater just before getting to their boat]
Allan: Oh, my God! Did you see what it was?
Elizabeth: No.
Allan: I think it's time to go back to shore.
Elizabeth: Yeah.
[Allan tries to start the motor]
Elizabeth: Allan? It's coming back!
[Allan looks for a gun in the tackle box]
Elizabeth: Allan? Allan! Oh, my God! It's coming out of the water!
[Allan starts shooting. They then look around and the boat is hit, causing it to rock and Allan falls into the water]
Allan: Whoa! Whoa! Ah!
Elizabeth: Allan? Honey, it's right behind you!
Allan: Help me! [He is dragged underwater]
Elizabeth: Allan! Oh, my-Allan. Allan! Allan, Allan, Allan!
[The water is suddenly filled with blood]
Elizabeth: [She screams] Allan! Allan! Allan! Allan!
[Wayne and his brother, Oliver run up to the lake after hearing Elizabeth's screams]
Elizabeth: Allan! Oh, my God!
Wayne: Oh, no, no, no, no, no.
Elizabeth: Help! Allan! Help me! Allan!
[Logan Cobb rises out of the water by the shore, still woged. He walks out of the water and retracts]
Wayne: What the hell did you do?
Logan: Guy started shooting at me, so I had to take care of him.
Oliver: What do you mean, "take care of him"?
Logan: I had to put him down.
Oliver: You killed somebody?
Logan: He had a gun! He was trying to kill me!
Elizabeth: Allan!
Logan: What was I supposed to do? It was sort of like self-defense.
Oliver: Oh, my God, Wayne.
Logan: Where's my money?
Elizabeth: Allan!
Wayne: [He hands Logan money] We'll sort this out later.
Elizabeth: Allan!
Logan: She's making a hell of a racket.
[Elizabeth screams]
Logan: Lucky I didn't kill her too.
Wayne: Get out of here.
[Logan walks away]
Elizabeth: Allan!
Oliver: This wasn't supposed to happen. That guy is an idiot!
Wayne: Calm down.
Oliver: Calm down? What are we gonna do now?
Wayne: Shut up.
Elizabeth: No!
Wayne: They're never gonna connect us to anything. She'll never be able to identify him anyway. He was woged the whole time.
Elizabeth: Oh, my God!
Oliver: So what do we do?
Elizabeth: Help me!
Wayne: Call 911.

Scene: Nick and Hank try to find information on Samuel Rankin and his bodyguards.

Hank: I got nothing on any of the victims.
Hank: The fingerprints don't match anything we got.
Wu: [He walks up] They located a rental car that we matched to the victims, but the ID used to rent the car was stolen. So was the credit card.
Hank: What do we do next?
Wu: Always dental records.
Trubel: [She walks up] Hey, Nick. I've been thinking about what happened to you last night. Hey, Hank. Hey, Wu. Are you pissed? I'd be pissed. I am pissed. They should've told you.
Nick: It would've been nice to know who I had to kill.
Trubel: [She looks at the pictures of the bodies] That would be Samuel Rankin's two Schakal bodyguards. Sig Ganz... [Flashback of Nick killing Sig with a knife in "Eve of Destruction"] Czech national, 32. Not that he was using that name. Born in Tuchomence, recruited by Black Claw three years ago. And Otto Gruenwaldt... [Flashback of Nick throwing Otto through the restaurant window in "Eve of Destruction"] 36, born in Woltersdorf, East Germany. His father was Stasi. Black Claw enforcer, recruited four years ago.
Nick: You know anything about Samuel Rankin?
Trubel: Yeah. Real name Rolf Kleinager. [Flashback of Rolf falling to the ground in "Eve of Destruction"] One of the founders of Black Claw. I mean, we're pretty sure he met with Alva Zajic and Arnaud Dubois ten years ago at the thermal baths outside of Bad Zurzach. It's a small Swiss town on the edge of the Black Forest. Kleinager was a big kill for us. Oh, and, um, Meisner called. That's why I'm here. He wants to talk to you.
Nick: When?
Trubel: Now.

Scene: Nick and Trubel arrive at Hadrian's Wall's compound.

[They pull inside the compound. Nick gets out of his car and Trubel gets off her motorcycle. Machinery then beeps]
Nick: [Looking around] Obviously, we're not alone.
Meisner: No. You're not. There was no other way. But you proved yourself.
Nick: To who?
Meisner: Eve.
[The three of them take an elevator up. They get out when the door opens and start walking to a room]
Trubel: This is my room.
Nick: This is where they put you.
Meisner: This is where they put all of us.
Nick: Who is "they"?
Meisner: Branch of the Federal Government. Don't try to find it. It doesn't exist.
Nick: So I suppose I've never seen any of this. Where's Eve? [Meisner signals him to follow]
Trubel: I'll be here, Nick.
Nick: So Renard told me you worked for the Resistance.
Meisner: I did. But this is much bigger than that.
Nick: How high up does this go?
Meisner: I don't know. But as you can tell, we're not without funding. And don't ask me where that comes from either. 'Cause I don't know. [He and Nick stop outside a door] She's inside. I'll give you a few minutes. [He knocks]
Eve: Enter.
[Meisner walks away]
Nick: [He opens the door and goes inside] You wanted me to prove myself?
Eve: You did.
Nick: You should've told me.
Eve: We had to know how you would react. If you let your emotions get in the way, you'd be no good to us.
Nick: You really believe in all of this.
Eve: Not at first. I didn't believe in anything.
Nick: What about now?
Eve: I found a reason to live.
Nick: Do you feel remorse for anything you've done?
Eve: You mean what she did.
Nick: What you did.
Eve: You still think you're talking to Juliette.
Nick: I don't know who I'm talking to.
Eve: Yes, you do. You just won't accept it.
Nick: Maybe I can't.
Eve: If we're gonna work together, you have to stop living in your past.
Nick: What do you mean, "work together"?
Eve: You're here for a reason. My only regret is that you didn't have a chance to bury Juliette. [She starts walking out of the room] There's more for you to see.
[Nick and Eve go to a room where Trubel, Meisner, and multiple HW members are]
Meisner: This is one of HW's command centers.
Nick: There are more?
Meisner: Oh, yeah. This is a war. It's happening all over the world.
Trubel: And we're fighting it.
Meisner: Take a look at this. The hot spots are Wesen uprisings: Brazil, Northern Ireland, Turkey, Syria, Yemen, Pakistan, Ukraine.
Nick: That's all Wesen related?
Trubel: All of it.
Meisner: There are people displaced all over the world because of what they're doing.
Eve: No one understands the real reason behind any of it.
Nick: Which is what?
Eve: A world run by Wesen. Hitler tried once, now Black Claw is trying again.
Meisner: Let me show you something. [He and Nick go outside]
Nick: What is this?
Meisner: It's our graveyard. Chavez is here. The ones you were supposed to meet are here too.
Nick: So you cleaned it up.
Meisner: We had to.
Nick: Why bring me here?
Meisner: Three days after we took Juliette, we found where Kenneth had dumped your mother's body. We recovered it and what we took from your house and... and buried her here. Just in case you don't believe me. [He hands Nick a photo] We want your help. We need it for what's coming. [He walks away]
[Nick kneels down at his mother's grave]
Trubel: Is he okay?
Meisner: He will be. [He goes back inside]

Scene: Sheriff Doug Parcell talks with Elizabeth about what happened.

Elizabeth: It was swimming all around us. We were gonna go back to shore.
Sheriff Parcell: What stopped you?
Elizabeth: It hit our boat. Dragged my husband under.
Sheriff Parcell: Something knocked him into the water?
Elizabeth: You don't understand. It attacked us.
Sheriff Parcell: What attacked you?
Elizabeth: This. [She shows Sheriff Parcell the picture she took]
[The scene shifts to Wayne and Oliver returning to their shop]
Oliver: This is getting so out of control.
Wayne: Calm down.
Oliver: It's your fault.
Wayne: You're overreacting.
Oliver: A man is dead, Wayne, and we're responsible.
Wayne: We're not responsible, Logan is!
Oliver: Yeah, we hired Logan to scare people, not to kill them. The whole thing backfired. You know what, we need to close and get out of here.
[The shop door opens]
Wayne: Be quiet.
Rebecca: You guys rent the boats, right?
Wayne: Sure do.
Rebecca: Great. We need to get out on that water right away.
Wayne: Just need you to fill out these forms.
Rebecca: No problem.
Wayne: You guys reporters?
Rebecca: Yeah. Guess you guys have heard of the Diamond Lake Monster.
Wayne: Kind of a legend around these parts.
Rebecca: Word is that it killed somebody.
Wayne: You here to cover it?
Rebecca: If it bleeds, it leads. Not that I believe in monsters, but whatever.
Cameraman: Hey, how much for the cap?
Oliver: Uh, it's $12.95—
Wayne: 15 bucks.
Cameraman: I'll take one of these shirts too. You know, wouldn't it be great if it was a monster and not the usual homicidal maniac? Hey, Rebecca, you want one of these?
Rebecca: Sure, why not? I'm a believer.
Cameraman: I really hope we get a chance to see this thing.

Scene: Nick returns to the precinct.

Hank: You okay?
Nick: I don't even know how to answer that.
Hank: You talk to Meisner?
Nick: Yeah.
Hank: So it's bad?
Nick: We're at war. And nobody knows it.
Renard: [He walks up] In my office. You need to see this.
[The three of them go to Renard's office and watch Rebecca's report about the Diamond Lake Monster on TV]
Rebecca: The Diamond Lake Monster: fact or fiction? Early this morning, Allan Eiger and his wife were out fishing on Diamond Lake when he was confronted by that very question. The answer cost him his life. Some locals claim this gruesome attack is the work of the mysterious Diamond Lake Monster. Could this be a local legend come to life? The victim's wife took this startling image during the attack.
Hank: Are you kidding me?
Renard: No. I got a call from Sheriff Parcell. He knows you've had luck with some of these strange cases. He requested your help on this.
Hank: Thinking this lake monster is Wesen?
Renard: I don't believe in monsters unless they're people. And this one is guilty of murder.
Nick: We'll check it out.

Scene: Nick and Hank go to Diamond Lake.

Hank: [He sees the sign advertising the monster] This what we're looking for?
Nick: This is what they're all looking for.
[Sheriff Parcell greets Nick and Hank when they pull up]
Sheriff Parcell: Thanks for coming.
Hank: Oof. So, this is a cluster—
Sheriff Parcell: It is. I know you guys have dealt with some pretty odd cases and I thought maybe you might be able to help us figure this one out.
Nick: What do we know?
Sheriff Parcell: Allan and Elizabeth Eiger were on the lake when something attacked. Allan had a gun in his tackle box, he fired a few shots at it, and it rammed their boat. He got knocked overboard, and this thing, whatever it was, pulled him under, ripped the hell out of him. Wife saw the whole thing.
Nick: And she took the photo?
Sheriff Parcell: Yeah. She's over there.
Hank: Do you think it was a monster?
Sheriff Parcell: I don't know what to think. This lake monster's just a local big fish story like the Loch Ness Monster or Ogopogo. Somebody shot a blurry photo back in the '60s, started the whole legend.
Hank: Has this legend ever attacked anybody before?
Sheriff Parcell: I checked the records. There were a half dozen sightings over the last 40 years, but nobody was ever hurt. Working theory is that somebody dumped a pet gator that got too big. Fish and Game's out on the lake looking for it with sonar.
Nick: We'll talk to the victim's wife. [He and Hank walk over to Elizabeth]
Hank: Mrs. Eiger? I'm Detective Griffin, this is Detective Burkhardt.
Nick: We'd like to ask you a few questions about what happened to your husband.
Elizabeth: I'm not sure what happened. We were out on the lake, and I saw something swimming around us. We didn't know what it was. And then it came out of the water. It was awful. We were both scared and Allan grabbed his gun and shot at it, and-and it hit the boat and knocked Allan into the water and...
Nick: Did you see anybody else on the water before you saw what you saw?
Elizabeth: No.
Hank: Were there any other boats around?
Elizabeth: No, we were out there all alone. I can't believe he's gone.
Hank: You rented the boat from there? [He points at the shop]
Elizabeth: Yeah.
Nick: All right, thank you for your time. [He and Hank walk away]
Hank: I got a theory.
Nick: What?
Hank: She's Wesen. Kills her husband, dumps the body overboard, blasts off a couple rounds, blames it on the Diamond Lake Monster.
Nick: That doesn't explain the photo she took.
Hank: Well, somebody's Wesen.
Logan: [He walks up to Elizabeth] Don't mean to intrude. I heard what happened. Just wanted to say that I'm sorry.
Elizabeth: Thank you.

Scene: Nick and Hank go to the shop to talk to Wayne and Oliver.

Hank: Lake monster sure isn't hurting business. [He and Nick go inside]
Wayne: Bye, take care.
Nick: Hey. I'm Detective Burkhardt, this is Detective Griffin. We need to talk to you.
Oliver: Um, we're sort of a little busy.
Nick: Well, you rented the boat to the victim.
Hank: We just have a few questions.
Wayne: Okay, okay, hold on. [To Oliver] Uh, just take over. [He steps aside to talk to Nick and Hank] Okay.
Nick: What's your name?
Wayne: Wayne Dunbar. That's my brother, Oliver. Look, we heard what happened, and it's terrible. And we called 911.
Nick: Did you or your brother see anything unusual on the lake this morning?
Wayne: Nothing out of the ordinary. Well, the Eigers took the boat out about 7:30. About an hour later, we heard gunshots, then we heard her screaming. And we ran down to the water, called 911. Our first thought was she shot her husband.
Nick: So you don't believe in this lake monster?
Wayne: Well, we do sell a few items that suggests that it does exist. But have I ever seen it? No.
Hank: You have a pretty brisk business here.
Wayne: A lot of gawkers showed up after the attack, folks looking to get a glimpse of the monster. It's pretty macabre, but we appreciate the traffic.
Nick: How long have you owned the business?
Wayne: [He sighs] Parents opened it about 50 years ago. Me and my brother took over about five years ago after they passed away.
Hank: Your parents ever see the monster?
Wayne: Oh, my dad swore that he did. Twice. Yeah, he's the one that started the whole hat and T-shirt thing. [He grabs a grainy picture off the wall] This is a picture that he took of it right here. All my life, I wanted to see this thing.
Oliver: [He drops and breaks a mug] Oh, sorry. [He woges into a Luisant-Pêcheur as he goes to pick up the pieces of the mug]
Wayne: Oliver! Excuse me, I got to help my brother.
[Nick and Hank leave the shop]
Nick: Brother's Wesen.
Hank: What?
Nick: The one who dropped the mug. He woged when he bent over to pick it up.
Hank: Look anything like the lake monster?
Nick: No. I think he's a Luisant-Pêcheur, looks sort of like an Eisbiber.
Hank: You think they're involved?
Nick: I don't know. I mean, they sure are benefiting from it.
Hank: Better check them out.

Scene: Rosalee helps a customer.

Rosalee: The turmeric should help with your arthritis. If it doesn't make a difference, you can bring it back.
Harriet: I'll try it.
Rosalee: Great. That'll be $17.25. Let me get you some change.
[A motorcycle approaches]
Rosalee: Okay.
Harriet: Thanks.
Rosalee: You're welcome.
[Harriet leaves and Trubel comes into the shop with her motorcycle helmet on. Monroe and Rosalee get slightly worried until she takes her helmet off]
Trubel: Hey.
Rosalee: Oh, my God, Trubel! Oh! [She hugs Trubel]
Trubel: Oof!
Rosalee: Nick told us you were back.
Trubel: Yeah.
Monroe: Sorry, got to make this a group hug. [He joins in]
Rosalee: How are you?
Trubel: Pretty good. How are you guys? I missed you.
Monroe: We're just glad you're okay.
Rosalee: So you got a motorcycle.
Trubel: I did. Look. I need to talk to you guys about something. [She flips the sign in the door to closed and locks the door]
Monroe: Oh, that kind of talk.
Trubel: You guys know about Black Claw, right?
Rosalee: We do.
Trubel: There's a lot more you need to know.

Scene: Nick and Hank do background checks on the Dunbars.

Hank: Neither of the Dunbar brothers has a record.
Nick: Well, they're pretty deep in debt. Have some trouble with the IRS. Owe some taxes, a lien on the property.
Hank: Good thing that monster showed up when he did.
Nick: But they couldn't have done it. [He brings up the picture that Elizabeth took of the monster on his computer screen] Whatever that is, it's not what the brothers are.
Hank: Maybe it was a Wesen for hire.
Nick: We need to figure out what kind of Wesen we're dealing with.

Scene: Wayne counts all the money they made for the day.

Wayne: 9 grand in one day. That's got to be a record, right?
Oliver: Yeah, it's a record.
Wayne: I mean, we've never sold out before. Everything's gone-hats, mugs, T-shirts. Even the triple extra-large ones. I'm bursting with joy.
Oliver: That's blood money, Wayne.
Wayne: Oh, come on. Dad would be proud.
Oliver: That we got a man killed?
Wayne: It wasn't our fault.
Oliver: I just don't think this is right.
Wayne: Then stop thinking. You know, Mom and Dad worked their fingers to the bone for this place. If it was up to you, we'd be out on the street.
Oliver: Yeah? Well, what about if the cops find out about Logan?
Wayne: How are they gonna find out about Logan? He was woged. The witness can't even connect him to it! You worry too much, brother. No, the only thing you got to worry about... is restocking these shelves. [He laughs and starts walking away]
Oliver: Where are you going?
Wayne: Laughing all the way to the bank.

Scene: Wayne meets Logan at a bar.

Wayne: Bring him another.
Bartender: You got it.
Wayne: And me too. [He sits down next to Logan]
Logan: What do you want?
Wayne: I want you... to do it again. Tonight.

Scene: A group of friends sit by a fire by the lake.

Girl 1: Wait. You remember?
Girl 2: No, come on.
Lea: [She walks over to Kevin] Do you want to come swim with me? [She takes off her sweater and goes to the dock]
Girl: Oh, my gosh.
Girl: We should ask him.
[Lea dives into the water and Kevin runs up to the dock]
Lea: [She swims to a platform and gets on it] Swim to me.
Kevin: [He laughs] No way.
Lea: Are you afraid of the lake monster?
Kevin: No, I'm not.
Lea: Yeah, you are. I dare you. What, don't you want to be alone with me? Then get your butt out here. [She notices movement in the water] There's something in the water.
Kevin: [He starts stripping down] Too late. I'm coming to get you.
Lea: No, no! No, no, no, no.
[Kevin flips into the water]
Lea: I'm not kidding, Kevin!
Kevin: What? Are you afraid the lake monster's gonna get you?
Lea: Oh, my God! It's right in front of you!
Kevin: Come on in. The water's great.
Lea: Get out of the water! Kevin, I'm serious! Kevin! Come on, please. Come here! Swim! Now!
Kevin: [He is grabbed] No! [He is quickly dragged under the water]
[Lea screams]

Scene: Nick and Hank arrive at the spice shop.

Monroe: Rosalee's downstairs. We think we found what you're looking for.
[The three of them go downstairs]
Monroe: We think it's a Wasser Zahne. It's like a Skalengecky water-loving Wesen.
Rosalee: Did you see it face-to-face?
Hank: No, but we did see a lot of T-shirts and hats.
Nick: Got a couple Luisant-Pêcheur brothers who might be working with a Wasser Zahne. Killed a boater out on the lake.
Monroe: Yeah, we saw the news. Looks like someone's rebooting the old Diamond Lake Monster legend.
Hank: And whoever he is, that's probably our killer. [He sets down the picture that Elizabeth took]
Rosalee: Nick, when you went to see Juliette—
Nick: Eve.
Monroe: Eve? What?
Nick: That's what she calls herself now. Or it's what they call her, I'm not really sure.
Monroe: Okay. Did you guys have a chance to talk this time?
Nick: She didn't seem that interested in talking. She's not really Juliette. Whatever they did to her, she's somebody else.
Rosalee: God, this is terrible... I think. I mean, if it was the old Juliette. Not the Juliette that was responsible for killing your mother and tried to kill you. I mean, oh, my God, this so confusing! I'm just gonna-I'm gonna stop talking.
Monroe: And also, by the way, Trubel came by. She wanted to tell us where she's been and what she's been doing and she told us about these people that she's working for.
Rosalee: She said they'd be contacting us. Are you going to help them?
Nick: I don't know yet.
Monroe: Yeah, we're feeling a little tentative ourselves.
Rosalee: I think whatever we decide, we all decide the same thing.
Hank: We are in this together.
Nick: Yeah.

Scene: Renard meets with Rachel Wood.

Renard: [Reading a piece of paper] This city deserves safe streets, and Andrew Dixon is committed to supporting the hardworking police officers that keep our neighborhoods secure. That's why I'm here to endorse Andrew Dixon for Mayor. [He finishes reading] How's that?
Rachel: Can I make a suggestion?
Renard: Of course.
Rachel: Instead of saying, "this city," try saying "we." "We" deserve safe streets. It'll be easier for the voters to get behind you if you make it clear you're part of their community.
Renard: Okay.
Rachel: Want to run it again from the top?
Renard: Sure.
Rachel: Okay. [She closes the door] I think we're gonna need to run it more than once.

Scene: Nick and Hank meet with Sheriff Parcell at the lake.

Sheriff Parcell: This is getting out of hand. My lakeshore's turning into a circus. I've got nuts out on boats threatening to shoot this thing. According to the kids with him, he was swimming when the thing came right out of the water, grabbed him, dragged him under. I wouldn't let them move the body until you guys had a chance to see it.
[Nick uncovers Kevin's body]
Sheriff Parcell: Far as I know, there are no freshwater sharks. I'm hoping you guys have some ideas, 'cause I'm at a loss on this one.
Nick: Yeah, we're working on something.
Officer: Hey, Sheriff, I got something I want to show you.
[Sheriff Parcell walks away]
Nick: We need to squeeze the Dunbar brothers.
Hank: How? Until we know who the Wasser Zahne is, we can't make a connection. And we can't take a Wesen to court. It's the perfect scam.
Nick: We need to scare them.
Hank: Letting them know you're a Grimm?
Nick: Not me. They need to think they're getting away with it.
[Logan Cobb watches as Nick and Hank walk away]

Scene: Logan goes into the shop to talk with the Dunbar brothers.

Wayne: There you go.
Oliver: Keep the change.
Customer: Thank you much.
Wayne: Thank you. Come again.
Customer: Thanks.
Logan: [He cuts in line and slams down a shirt on the counter] $24 for a shirt? 15 bucks for a mug? We need to talk.
Oliver: Wayne? Wayne!
Wayne: All right, I'll handle it. Let's talk in the office.
[Logan throws the shirt at Oliver]
Wayne: Keep going.
Oliver: Okay.
Wayne: [He closes the office door] You shouldn't be coming around here.
Logan: I want half of everything. Starting yesterday.
Wayne: What?
Logan: You wouldn't have any of this if it wasn't for me.
Wayne: I can pay you more. [He takes money out of his pocket] I can give you a couple hundred right now.
Logan: [He grabs the money from Wayne] You don't get it. You've been taking advantage of me. I do all the work, you two make all the money.
Wayne: Well, sure, yeah, we can work something out.
Logan: I'll be back at midnight to collect the rest. If I don't get it, they'll be pulling your bodies out of the lake. [He leaves]

Scene: Eve watches footage of chaos caused by Black Claw and Meisner goes to talk with her.

[Meisner knocks and goes into Eve's room]
Eve: What's for dinner?
Meisner: [He looks at the bowl of food he's eating] Not sure.
Eve: I don't think he's ready.
Meisner: Burkhardt?
Eve: He's still too emotional.
Meisner: He doesn't understand how important you are to us, the way you are now.
Eve: Maybe we should've changed my face. Or do to him what you did to me.
Meisner: He'll come around [He sets his bowl down] once he realizes what we're up against.
Eve: [She takes a bite of the food] It's chicken.

Scene: Wayne and Oliver talk about Logan.

Oliver: I don't like it. I mean, I don't trust this guy. He's already killed two people. And-and what would make him go out and kill that poor kid?
Wayne: I don't know, I mean, he's obviously out of his mind. But if he keeps giving us trouble, we got to deal with it.
Oliver: Okay, okay.
[Wayne grabs a gun from behind the counter]
Oliver: Wayne, Wayne, Wayne, no. No. No!
Wayne: Listen, here's what we're gonna do. When he comes back tonight, he's gonna ask for his money. And we're gonna give it to him.
Oliver: And just let him walk out?
Wayne: No. As soon as you give him the money, I'm gonna shoot him.
Oliver: What?
Wayne: It's obvious! He came here to rob us. He had the gun, we struggled over it, and he got shot.
Oliver: Okay, this whole thing is out of control. I think we should just give him the money.
[There is loud knocking on the door]
Oliver: Sorry, we're closed!
Trubel: Open the door.
Wayne: What?
Oliver: [He looks to see who it is] It's a girl.
Trubel: I'm not here to buy any of your crap. I'm looking for the Wasser Zahne.
Oliver: Wayne—
Trubel: [She hits the door] Open the door!
Oliver: Okay, okay. [He opens the door] We don't know what you're talking about. Can you just go away?
Trubel: [She points at a lake monster pin on Oliver's shirt] Yeah, that's him. Doesn't look much like that, does he?
Oliver: Ugh!
Trubel: These people will just buy anything. [She sees the gun Wayne is holding] Stop being stupid. I'm not looking for any Luisant-Pêcheur. I'm looking for the Wasser Zahne. There's a contract on his head, and I'm gonna collect.
Oliver: [He woges] Oh, my God, she's a Grimm!
[Wayne also woges into a Luisant-Pêcheur and Trubel grabs the gun from him before he retracts]
Trubel: What do you think you're gonna do with this?
Wayne: Nothing. I mean, nothing. Thank God you're here. The Wasser Zahne's name is Logan Cobb. He set us up. He came up with the idea of bringing back the lake monster. He attacked those innocent people on his own. If we don't sell this stuff, he's gonna kill us. We're just patsies selling trinkets. He's taking all the money!
Trubel: [She points the gun at Wayne] Where do I find him?
Wayne: He's coming back here at midnight to pick up his money. But if you get rid of him, we'll give it to you. And you can still collect on his head. It's a win-win. He's an old drunk. Should be no problem for a Grimm.
Oliver: Yeah, yeah.
Trubel: Midnight, huh?
Wayne: Yeah, but you got to be here earlier.
Trubel: I'll come back at 11:30. Logan better show. [She lunges at Oliver to scare him] Huh? [She chuckles and leaves]
Wayne: This is perfect.
Oliver: Perfect? She's a freaking Grimm!
Wayne: Yeah, just what we need.

Scene: Trubel meets with Nick and Hank who are nearby in their car.

Trubel: [She gets into the backseat] Well, you were right. The brothers are working with a Wasser Zahne named Logan Cobb. He's been doing the killing, they've been collecting the profits. But they claim Logan's taking all the money. He's coming back at midnight to collect. How do you want to do this?
Hank: Carefully. This guy's got a violent record and lot of assault charges.
Nick: And now he's killed two people. What time do they expect you to be there?
Trubel: Told them 11:30.
Hank: So I guess we'll have to crash the party a little early.
Trubel: How far you want me to take this?
Nick: Well, he's murdered two people. And we can't arrest him for it.
Trubel: That's all I need to know.

Scene: Wayne finds Logan at the bar again.

Waitress: Here you go.
Customer: Thanks.
[Wayne sits down next to Logan]
Logan: You bring me my money?
Wayne: No. It's not midnight. But you come to my place. I'm not gonna walk around with that much cash.
Logan: Then what are you doing here?
Wayne: I'm here to warn you.
Logan: About what?
Wayne: My brother, Oliver. He's gonna double-cross you.
Logan: What?
Wayne: He said he wanted to keep your share, so he hired somebody to kill you when you show up tonight.
Logan: That little bastard. I'll kill him.
Wayne: No, no, no, no. I got a plan.
Logan: Yeah? What?
Wayne: You kill Oliver.
Logan: You want me to kill your brother?
Wayne: Oliver never believed in you, not like I do. I can't just stand by after everything you've done and let him get away with it.
Logan: So what's this plan of yours?
Wayne: Oliver doesn't expect you until midnight. But the person he hired comes at 11:30. So you come at 11:00. First, you take care of Oliver. And then we take care of his assassin together.
Logan: So who'd Oliver hire to kill me?
Wayne: Some girl.
Logan: A girl?
Wayne: Yeah, yeah. He thinks you'd never expect it.
Logan: Well, this'll be easy. What do we do with the bodies?
Wayne: We dump them in the lake. And we blame everything on the Diamond Lake Monster. [He laughs]
Logan: You mean me.
Wayne: No! Shh. Come on, keep your voice down. Look. This one. [He shows Logan his shirt]
Logan: Oh, yeah, that one.

Scene: Logan arrives at the shop as Nick, Hank, and Trubel watch.

Hank: I see Logan. I guess he couldn't wait till midnight.
Trubel: Something else is going on here.
Nick: Could be he doesn't trust them. You ready?
Trubel: Yeah. [She gets out of the car]
[The scene shifts to the Dunbar brothers talking in the shop]
Oliver: What if she's late, okay? What if she shows up after he does? What if she doesn't show up at all?
Logan: [He walks into the shop] Who?
Oliver: Who what?
Logan: Who you were talking about.
Oliver: Oh, uh... no. That was something else altogether. Hey, look at all the money we got for you.
Logan: I know all about your plan.
Oliver: Plan? Uh, what plan?
Logan: To backstab me.
Oliver: What?
Logan: And take my share.
Oliver: Hey, hey, hey, I don't know what you're talking about.
Logan: The little girl you hired to kill me.
Oliver: I didn't hire a little girl to kill you.
Logan: Well, that's not what your brother said.
Oliver: What?
Wayne: I told him the truth, Oliver. I had to.
Oliver: What truth is that, Wayne?
Wayne: I couldn't let you betray him.
Oliver: Betray Logan? I-I didn't betray Lo-I didn't betray Lo- [Logan grabs him and shoves him to the ground] No! Okay, Logan, no. I didn't-I didn't do anything.
Logan: You're gonna taste good.
Oliver: No, no, no! Wayne, tell him! No! Wayne! Wayne! Wayne!
Trubel: [She walks in] Hey! You're early.
Logan: So you're the little girl he hired to kill me?
Oliver: I didn't hire her, Wayne did! Okay? Wayne did everything! I didn't even want to do any of this.
Logan: Whatever. [He woges. To Wayne] You didn't tell me she was a Grimm.
Wayne: Oops.
[Logan tries to attack Trubel, but he is unsuccessful. There is a brief fight, but Trubel quickly breaks Logan's neck, killing him]
Wayne: Wow! You're really good. Here you go. [He pushes a stack of money forward on the counter] I'll double it if you kill my brother.
Oliver: Aw, come on, Wayne!
Nick: [He and Hank walk in] The killing's over.
Wayne: Yeah, yeah, yeah. We saw it all. She killed him.
Trubel: Didn't really have a choice.
Nick: He killed two people. We couldn't arrest him.
Hank: Yeah, I guess you should know-he's a Grimm just like her.
[Wayne woges and runs into the office, closing the door behind him]
Nick: [He tries to open the door] It's locked!
Oliver: He's just gonna go out the back door. You should go around.
Nick: [To Trubel] Stay with him.
[Nick and Hank chase after Wayne who takes some of his clothes off and dives into the lake]
Hank: There's no way I'm going in there after him.
Nick: He's got to come out sooner or later.
Man: I see him!
Woman: Yeah, it's right there!
Man: See him yet?
Man 2: It's the monster!
[Multiple people shoot their guns into the water from their boats]
Hank: How are we gonna explain this one? [He and Nick turn around and walk away]

Scene: The next morning Nick and Hank meet with Sheriff Parcell about Wayne and Logan's bodies.

Sheriff Parcell: Why was this idiot swimming in the lake at night with all that's going on? No wonder he got himself shot.
Hank: Maybe he wanted to make people think he was the monster. Drum up a little business for the shop? Maybe that's what he and his brother were doing all along.
Sheriff Parcell: Yeah. Maybe. But how'd this local drunk wind up in the water with a broken neck?
Nick: I don't know. I'm starting to think this Diamond Lake Monster is real. [He walks away]
Sheriff Parcell: Is he serious?
Hank: You never know. [He meets up with Nick and Trubel]
Trubel: Guess it's better to believe in a monster than know the truth.
Hank: Yeah, 'cause you can always convince yourself a monster's not real.
Nick: Reality is definitely not what it used to be.
