Claudia Christian was born on August 10, 1965, in Glendale, California. Her family moved to Connecticut some time afterwards. At the age of five, she was bitten by the acting bug when she played a Native American in a school play. After her family returned to California, she graduated high school at 16 and set out to start her acting career. She worked in a coffee house and then at a clothing store for two years, before landing her first acting role on the soap Dallas (1978). She is well known to SF genre fans as Susan Ivanova, John Sheridan's right hand on Babylon 5.

Christian is a veteran actress/singer with many TV appearances on her resume. She has appeared in TV series such as Dallas, Blacke's Magic, Berrengers, and Freaks and Geeks. She had a recurring role in Babylon 5. She has also appeared on Criminal Minds, Castle, and The Mentalist. She appeared in Look on Showtime. Her film credits include The Hidden, Maniac Cop 2, and Hexed.
Christian has also recorded three albums, Taboo, Claudia Squared, and Once Upon a Time.
