The Kanabo (kuh-nuh-BOH; Jap. 金棒 Kanabō) is a large, long spiked club weapon that Nick found in the trailer's weapon cabinet. It's his second-most used Grimm weapon behind his Doppelarmbrust. Its similarity to the American baseball bat means that it can be carried and used in modern society more safely than an antiquated sword or axe. Being a blunt weapon, in combination with his strength, it also gives Nick more options in choosing to disable or kill his opponent as necessary.
Nick is extremely skilled with the Kanabo, as he flawlessly struck, while blindfolded, every fruit that Monroe threw, and caught each in midair. ("Mr. Sandman")
The Kanabo is one of the traditional weapons of Japanese samurai warriors and their retainers.
Appearance[]
The Kanabo is a long, thin club that gets progressively wider towards the end. It has a circular top, much like a baseball bat. It has about a foot-long handle, and after that, every side is studded with a length of spiked metal barbs.
The wood itself would be a heavy wood such as oak, while the metal, traditionally iron, could also in this case possibly be steel as well.
