Grimm Guide (Blu-ray only) Profiles[]

Note: Every detail may not be entirely accurate with what is said and shown in episodes.

Excandesco

Thought to be the basis for the phoenix, it is a Wesen that, when morphed, appears as red embers under coal-black skin with "wings" of flame. Its glands produce phosphorous, giving it the ability to create fire at will, radiating so much heat that even approaching the creature is incredibly difficult.

Folterseele

A classically tragic, frog-like Wesen, they are very rare and don't woge like normal Wesen. Theirs acts as a defense mechanism, a physical response to others sexually aroused by their beauty. When woged, their skin becomes toxic to the touch.

Gedächtnis Esser

An octopus-like creature that uses four appendages to burrow into its victim's head and steal his or her memories. Their victims are usually diagnosed with advanced dementia as the Wesen steal their past and leave them void of any human connection, unable to identify the attack or the attacker.

Golem

A towering ten-foot figure made of clay that has different origins coming from different cultures, most notably the Jewish religion. It is believed to be an anthropomorphic creature inspired by faith, created to protect the meek but found too dangerous to wield.

Heftigauroch

A bull-like Wesen that morphs into rage when provoked. Their hard heads and strong hands make them great fighters, despite the fact that it is not in their nature to fight.

Huntha Lami Muuaji

A slimy, hideous flatworm Wesen that, like the flatworm Platyhelminthes, secretes enzymes from its pharynx that feed on its host's skin. It has been thought that they always travel in pairs, but in reality the Wesen has the unique ability to change its gender at will.

Indole Gentile

A Greek, benign-looking Wesen whose children, on rare occasion, are susceptible to Kallikantzaroi manifestation (during puberty).

Kallikantzaroi

Kallikantzaroi are short hairy beasts, reddish in color, with glowing green eyes and sharp yellow teeth. They are children of the Indole Gentile and manifest during pubertas. The manifestation lasts 12 days in line with the winter solstice, when their raging hormones motivate them to wreak havoc on Christmas celebration.

Luison

Similar in appearance and nature to Blutbaden, Luison are of a different branch in the same canid Wesen family tree. Luison are South American in origin, and can be identified by their ears, reddish hair, and a very distinct body odor.

Matança Zumbido

A hideous electric-eel Wesen that can fry a person from the inside out. Its victims are often left burnt beyond recognition, with scorched skin, shattered skulls, and empty eye sockets. There is a way to defend against this powerful creature - an ancient ritual developed by an indigenous tribe from deep in the Amazon.

Mishipeshu

A Mishipeshu is a powerful Native American spirit that is half-cougar and half-dragon, and appears as a demon possessing the body of someone involved with a power quest. Sometimes it is a protective creature, but sometimes it can be a vengeful beast that will not stop until all its targets are dead.

Phansigar

A type of Skalengeck not dissimilar to the Komodo dragon with a terrifying brand of human sacrifice. They use their long tongues to choke their victims - always a young couple - into silence before burying them alive. They carry out this sacrifice every two years to placate the Hindu goddess Kali.

Schinderdiv

A ferocious demon beast with long bottom fangs. It intimidates using great strength and size, and uses incisors to pin its victim and large canines to inflict damage. Schinderdiv are not to be trusted.

Varme Tyv

A white snake-like Wesen that is naturally cold-blooded. Unable to produce their own body heat, they are forced to steal heat from others, freezing them to death in the process. The safer alternative is to make it to a hibernaculum, where they hibernate in groups in an enclosed space by collectively sharing their body heat.

Vulpesmyrca

A hideous black fox-like creature with incredible speed.

Wældreór

They are Wesen completely transfigured by the contraction of a rare disease known as "Ka Dinga Pepo." The disease becomes permanent after 48 hours, giving them a deformed appearance, with hair and skin in patches and blood hemorrhaging from their eyes, nose, and ears. They are elusive bloodsuckers who attack humans and animals alike.

Willahara

A rabbit-like creature. It is believed that good fortune and fertility is bestowed upon couples who participate in Spedigberendess, a practice that involves placing a severed Willahara foot below the place the couple wishes to procreate. Willaharas don't woge in front of other Wesen, afraid of being exposed.
