Hanson was a runaway from Pocatello, Idaho who lived on the street with his sister. He and Gracie knew other runaways who had disappeared. After Gracie told Dr. Levine about helping a detective who was investigating the disappearances, Geiers abducted Gracie and Hanson. Hanson left a trail of puka shell beads to the makeshift operating room which Nick and Hank followed. Doctor Levine, who also proved to be a Geier, was about to remove Gracie's organs when Nick and Hank rescued Hanson, Gracie, Kevin and the others.
His name is a play on Hansel from "Hansel and Gretel"
