Opening Quote: "The enchantress was so hard-hearted that she banished the poor girl to a wilderness, where she had to live in a miserable, wretched state." – Rapunzel

Scene: Two hikers are making their way to the lake.

Female hiker: It's up this way.
Male hiker: How much farther?
Female hiker: 2.34 miles to the lake.
Male hiker: That means we've gone 9.7. [they keep walking, now the male is leading ahead]
Female hiker: When do you wanna stop for food?
Male hiker: I don't wanna stop until we're naked in that lake. [they laugh]
Female hiker: You'd better have a fire going for me before I step foot in that lake.
Male hiker: [he grins and turns around] I'll have a fire going all right. [they kiss. And when he turns around to keep walking, there is someone there pointing a gun at them]
Man: Get down on the ground! [the male hiker tries to push his girlfriend behind him]
Female hiker: Oh, my God.
Man: Get down on the ground! [he hits the male hiker with the butt of the gun. He falls to the ground]
Female hiker: [kneeling to her boyfriend] No! No, Dustin! [the man points the gun at her and she raises her hands] Oh, my god. Please, please, please! Please don't shoot.

Scene: It's nighttime, the hikers are being held hostage by the man at his camp area. They are on the ground.

Female hiker: [sobbing] We were just hiking to Shannon Lake.
Man: Never heard of it.
Dustin: People know that we're out here, man.
Man: It's too bad for them if they come looking for you.
Female hiker: [sobbing] What are you gonna do?
Man: Once I figure out if you're cops or not, then I'll decide.
Dustin: We're not cops, we own a doggie wash! [the man looks uncaring]
Female hiker: So you'll let us go?
Man: [picking his gun from the ground] I got $3 million growing up here. [he loads it]
Female hiker: [scared and screaming] No! No! No!
Dustin: [scared as well] No, no, please don't!
Man: [aiming the gun] It's nothing personal.
Dustin: [shouting] Please don't! Please don't! Please don't! [his girlfriend is screaming scared too] Oh God! Oh God!
[the man has the gun against Dustin's head when the sound of branches snapping gets his attention. He aims at the noise]
Dustin: [crying] please, please!
[the man is walking toward the noise with the sniper lens trying to catch anything. He walks deeper into the woods. After a while, something tackles him and his gun goes off. He gets up and before he can even comprehend the situation, a thick rope ties around his neck from behind. Some is pulling him to them as he screams. He gets pulled into the bushes where he is attacked. Back at the camp, the hikers are still crying and terrified. And they tried to keep themselves straight as they watch someone/something raid the man's tent].
Female hiker: Dustin [moving so her tied hands are closer to his] cut the rope.
Dustin: [struggling a bit] Okay, okay, okay. [he begins to pull her binds undone. Soon enough they are running out of the woods as the snarling continues] Come on.
Female hiker: Run!

Scene: Aerial shot of the woods, it's morning. Nick and Hank are using four wheeler dirt bikes to get to the scene of the crime. When they arrive, officers are there and the DEA is cutting down the weed. Nick and Hank are putting on gloves as they walk into the woods to find the man's death body. Some DEA officers are there. One of them, DEA Agent Langford is taking prints.

Hank: Ooh, that is one broken neck. [he takes pictures of the man's grotesque murder] and those abrasions, they probably used a pretty hefty rope.
DEA Agent Langford: Well, what do you know? It's Delmar Blake. We've been looking for him for three years.
Nick: What did he do?
DEA Agent Langford: Just about everything. We knew he was moving drugs, we just didn't realize he was growing them.
[Nick takes out tweezers out of his jacket when he notices something on Blake's body. He picks up a strand of hair].
Hank: Hair?
Nick: Obviously not his. [he puts it inside an evidence bag that Hank has ready]
Hank: Think he's got a girlfriend around here?
Nick: Maybe. [They leave the scene. Nick and Hank walk over to the Forest Service Ranger who is coming out of the raided tent] Got anything for us?
F.S.R.: Yeah, it's kinda weird, there's not a bit of food left. No sleeping bag, no blankets. Got millions of dollars worth of Marijuana plants out there and not one of them was taken.
Hank: You're saying someone killed him for his supplies?
F.S.R.: That's what it looks like.
Nick: Somebody got their priorities screwed up.
Hank: Maybe we're talking Bigfoot.
Nick: I don't think Bigfoot would fit into the sleeping bag. [Hank chuckles] I'm gonna go talk to the DEA guys.
Hank: All right. [Nick leaves]
F.S.R.: Yeah, it used to be nice and pristine up here, before the damn drug dealers moved in. We've had a lot of campsites raided. Food, clothing, you name it.
[over by Nick and DEA Agent Langford]
Nick: So you ever see anything like this before? Someone kills the grower but leaves all of the plants?
DEA Agent Langford: No. Look, all I know is someone made out life a little easier, all right? One less scumbag in the world. Now, we're gonna move the body if you're done with it.
Nick: I'm gonna take another look. [he walks back to Blake's body] I got this. [he looks around for a while trying to find some new clues, and then he sees the gun. He walks over to it, and inserts a gloved-finger inside the barrel. It comes out with gunpowder. Nick sniffs it to make sure it is that. He looks around again and notices that a tree trunk has markings. He takes out an evidence bag and the tweezers and grabs the tiny looking bullets. He puts away as he notices a snaped thin branch nearby with a strand of hair similar to the one that was on the body. Just then, someone drops from a tree behind Nick and runs for it. Nick hears it and begins to follow after them. Nick is chasing after them, but the person is running faster. They also have really long hair that looks like what wrapped around Blake's neck. Nick stops to look after the person, and to his shock, they look like a Blutbad].

Scene: At the hikers home, Dustin and Lauren are recounting what happened to them to Nick and Hank.

Dustin: He was gonna kill us and then he heard something, and he just walked off.
Lauren: And we heard a gunshot and then it sounded like somebody was being choked.
Nick: You see anybody else?
Dustin: No.
Hank: You hear anything else?
Lauren: Yes. Some...thing came into the camp and started knocking stuff over.
Dustin: We don't know what it was, we just saw shadows.
Lauren: And heard something, like a growl. [Nick looks like this piece of information is very important to him]
Dustin: It took us forever to get free and then we just ran.
Hank: You never saw his body?
Lauren: [choked up] No. But whatever it was, it saved our lives.

Scene: At the precinct, Hank and Nick are showing Renard what they've got on a TV hooked up to a computer.

Hank: The FBI confirmed the identity of Delmar Blake.
Nick: Lab confirmed the hair we found on his neck and on the tree are not Blake's.
Renard: Is it one of the hiker's?
Hank: We don't know. We're testing DNA and we've got samples of hair of both the hikers.
Renard: You sure they had nothing to do with that?
Nick: We ran a background check, no priors. They run on a doggie wash in Beaverton.
Renard: Hm.
Nick: Nothing to indicate they'd have anything to do with Blake or drugs.
Renard: So what is it? Another drug dealer getting rid of the competition?
Hank: They would have taken his plants.
Renard: Who kills a pot grower in the middle of the woods for a sleeping bag and some food?
Nick: Somebody hungry and cold.
[As Nick and Hank leave Renard's office, Sgt. Wu walks over to them]
Sgt. Wu: [to two men] You just wait right there. [To Hank and Nick as they walk over to their shared desk] so I got a couple knuckle-draggers here demanding to see their brother's body. [he motions with his head to the two men he'd been talking to] That upstanding citizen Delmar Blake apparently has family. [Wu walks back to the men. Nick and Hank look annoyed at having to deal with them].
Nick: Detectives Burkhardt and Griffin. How can we help you guys?
Brother #1: Are you the ones that found our brother?
Hank: We're the ones investigating the death of Delmar Blake. Do you two have I.D.s?
Brother #2: Why? What'd we do?
Hank: Before we divulge any information, we have to know who we're talking to. [they take out their I.D.s]
Brother #1: How'd he die? Gun, knife, beaten to death?
Nick: [looking at one of the I.D.s] We're still trying to determine that.
Brother #1: [annoyed] Well, you can't tell by looking at him?
Brother #2: We wanna see the body.
Nick: Well, it's at the morgue.
Brother #2: Don't change what I said.
Hank: Then you'll have to mee us there.
Brother #1: [irritated] Well, let's get it done.

Scene: They arrive at the morgue. The Blake brothers in a big cameo truck.

Hank: [unamused as they get out of the car] There's a chick magnet if I ever saw one.
[Inside, they have Delmar's body out. They four around him]
Brother #1: [upset] Why'd you cut him open?
Nick: To determine the cause of death. It's a homicide investigation.
Brother #2: He was strangled, even I could see that.
Hank: Did you know your brother was involved with illegal cultivation of a controlled substance?
Brother #1: [pissed] I don't care what he was doing, I wanna know who killed him.
Nick: And maybe do something about it?
Brother #1: [scoffs] A lot more than you're gonna do.
Nick: You should let us do our job before you become our jobs. [Brother #1 gets pissed and goes to fight Nick, but he is stopped by his brother]
Hank: Don't you feel that cold air in here? [a tense seconds] It's bad for the body when it gets too hot.
Brother #2: [smiling as he tries to defuse the tension] He's just talking. Now we're leaving.
[The brothers leave, the one who almost fought Nick clearly angry as he kicks the doors open]
Hank: [watching them leave] what do you see in those two?
Nick: Priors.
Hank: Let's see if you pinned the tail on those donkeys. [they leave]

Scene: Back at the precinct, Hank and Nick pull up information about Micah Blake and Roland Blake.

Hank: Assault, disturbing the peace, tax fraud, and dealing in stolen goods. But no drugs charges.
Nick: So maybe they weren't involved with their brother. Any outstanding warrants?
Hank: Disappointingly, no.
Nick: I guess they just haven't been caught lately.
Hank: Mm. [Sgt. Wu arrives with a folder]
Sgt. Wu: Hold on to your--whatever you hold on to. You're not gonna believe this. We just got the lab report back on the brunette hair you found at the scene.
Hank: Mm-hm [Sgt. Wu opens the folder and sets down for Hank to read. He reads, and his face turns confused] Holly Clark? You sure?
Sgt. Wu: We got a preliminary match. [Hank hands Nick the folder] They're running the tests again to make sure.
Hank: One of the more depressing cases I ever worked. Little girl, playing in her mother's backyard, just vanished, massive search turned up nothing.
Nick: Seven years old. She's been missing for nine years.
Hank: She was adopted and her birth mother was a drug addict. No one was ever charged.
Nick: She'd be 15, 16 years old.
Sgt. Wu: What, this girl's out in the woods, living with a drug dealer all these years?
Hank: We'd better lock down her identity before we start banging drums on this. How much you got on this case?
Sgt. Wu: Boxes and boxes of files, you want them brought up?
Hank: Yes, I wanna see everything.
Sgt. Wu: [leaving] better make some room.
Hank: [grabs the folder back from Nick and sighs] Looks like it's gonna be a dine-at-desk night.
Nick: I'll see if I can find out if Blake is in any way connected to the girl or her family, and where he was the night she was abducted.
[As Nick leaves, Hank is looking down at the picture of Holly when she was 7 years old].

Scene: Dustin is leaving his house, going to his car. Micah and Roland are in their truck watching Dustin. They have a newspaper with the picture of Dustin and Lauren wrapped in blankets as a police officer escorts them away from cameras. They follow Dustin as he drives away.

Scene: Nick is knocking at Monroe's which already has a Christmas wreath. Monroe opens the door enough for his head to poke out.

Monroe: Oh, Nick. Umm, is this important? 'cause I'm right in the middle of--
Nick: Yeah, it is. [he walks in past Monroe]
Monroe: No, no, no. But you see the thing is--[Nick walks in to see the house fully decorated with Christmas lights and other decorations. It's covered corner to corner. Nick looks amazed]
Nick: Whoa. I mean, you really like Christmas.
Monroe: Look, it's a long tradition in my family. And, um, well...while you're here, you might as well help. [he hands Nick part of a train set] Here. Hang on to that. And don't mess with that. That is an antique, 1935, pre-war. [he walks over to where the train set up is being finished] Wait till you see these babies run.
Nick: [walking over] Look, I need to show you something.
Monroe: Yeah, yeah, just a sec. Here hand me the caboose. [Nick gives it to him] Now just step back from the tracks. [Nick backs away a little annoyed as he sighs. Monroe puts the last part and turns the tracks on. The toy train whistles. Monroe looks very happy as he sits down to watch] What do you think?
Nick: [looking] I think you have too much time on your hands, Monroe. [Monroe chuckles] Juliette and I don't even have a light up yet.
Monroe: You should see me in my Santa suit.
Nick: Yeah. A Blutbad as Santa.
Monroe: Hey, I'm pretty good, but it's true. I'm no Gefrierengeber. [Nick turns off the tracks].
Nick: Wait a minute. You telling me that Santa Claus is--
Monroe: [shrugs] Well, think about it. I mean who else could live up there?
Nick: [surprised] Huh.
Monroe: [standing] You want an eggnog? I make it from scratch.
Nick: No, no, no, no. [takes out Holly's picture from his jacket] I want you to tell me if she could be a Blutbad.
Monroe: [grabs the picture and looks at it] I can't tell what she is from a photo.
Nick: [grabbing the picture back] Well, if she is something like you...could she survive by herself in the woods for nine years?
Monroe: Well, if she wasn't, definitely no. What, is she lost or something?
Nick: No, there's a possibility she was abducted nine years ago at the age of seven.
Monroe: Wow. And you think she's been living in the woods for nine years?
Nick: Yeah, we have evidence it was her.
Monroe: Well, I mean, if she was only seven years old, you know, society hasn't had that much of an influence on her, so she'd still be a wild child. Her instincts would be working full-time. So, you know, she'd have a decent chance. I'm not sure I'd wanna run into her now though.
Nick: All right, she was adopted at a very young age. I don't know if her adoptive parents were Blutbaden. Could that be a problem?
Monroe: Yeah. I mean, she'd have no one who understood what she was going through.
Nick: [a little confused and curious] Did you know you were Blutbad when you were born?
Monroe: [sighs and sits down] Let me put it this way. The first time you feel the surge and you fang out...it is pretty weird. I bit through my lip. I ripped my pants. It scared the crap out of me.
Nick: So are you telling me that there's a possibility that she doesn't know who she is, I mean, if she didn't have parents that understood?
Monroe: Definitely, yeah. I mean, that could be why she never came out of the woods.
Nick: I'm going back out there and I want you to come with me.
Monroe: How did I know you were gonna say that?
Nick: Monroe, if she is something like you, I cannot risk someone else's life taking them out there.
Monroe: Apparently you're willing to risk mine.
Nick: You're like her. You could understand her.
Monroe: Look, even if she accepts me, I haven't living in the woods for nine years. I'd be no match for something like that. [Nick shows her the picture of Holly again, trying to work on Monroe's emotional trigger].
Nick: I think she might be wounded.
Monroe: That doesn't make it better.
Nick: [putting away Holly's picture] Well, I'm going back out there.
Monroe: Not at night.
Nick: Tomorrow morning?
Monroe: We better be prepared.

Scene: At a bar. Bud --the repairman from 'Danse Macabre'--is having some beers with his friends, Roscoe and Irv.

Roscoe: You're full of it.
Bud: Dude, I'm telling you.
Irv: No way.
Bud: I saw him with my own two eyes.
Roscoe: Here in Portland?
Irv: They don't really exist.
Bud: I was in his house.
Roscoe: You were in a Grimm's house?
Bud: Yes.
Irv: If that's true, how come he didn't kill you?
Bud: 'Cause I got the hell outta there, that's why.
Roscoe: Okay, so where does he live, Mr. I-saw-a-Grimm-and-lived-to-tell-about-it?
Irv: [with money in his hand] 50 bucks says you're full of tree sap. [he slams it down while Bud looks between his friends]

Scene: At the Doggie Wash, Dustin is closing up the place. He walks toward his car when he is approached by Roland.

Roland: Hey buddy, got the time?
Dustin: 9:06 [he gets hit from behind with a gun by Micah. Dustin is knocked out. They take him]

Scene: Irv, Roscoe, and Bud are waiting across Nick's house for Nick to arrive home. They look scared as they watch Nick get out of his car when he gets home.

Bud: Oh man! Oh man, that's him! That's him--get down! [they lower their heads and Irv and Roscoe hit their heads together] Get down! Get down lower! [Nick is barely going up the steps] Go! [Irv starts the car with their heads still hidden. They leave quick which makes the car tires squeal, catching Nick's attention. He watches the car go with great confusion]

Scene: Nick and Juliette are ready to go to bed.

Juliette: Can you imagine losing your child like that?
Nick: No, I can't.
Juliette: Kind of hard to believe a little girl could survive out there all these years. [she shuts off the lamp]
Nick: I guess so.
Juliette: [as she gets comfortable on her side] I studied feral child syndrome in one of my Psychology classes [Nick goes to cuddle her] most are cases of child abuse. The whole 'raised by wolves' thing was never really proven.
Nick: Well, that's why we're being extra cautious about this.
Juliette: Have you told the parents yet?
Nick: [stays silent for a minute] Not yet.
Juliette: This is one those times I do not envy your job [he kisses below her ear] Mmm.

Scene: Nick and Hank are talking to Renard in his office.

Renard: You realize you're gonna be opening up old wounds.
Hank: I know, I lived through it. That's why we have to be a 110% sure.
Renard: And we need to keep a low profile. I can't sit on this forever. I give you 24 hours to find something definitive. How do you wanna do this?
Hank: We're gonna split up. I'm gonna see if I can track down the adoptive parents and see if anybody--maybe a family member--could have taken Holly into those woods.
Renard: [to Nick] And you?
Nick: I'm going back out to the crime scene. See if I can find any other evidence of Holly.
Renard: Taking anyone with you?
Nick: Not if we wanna keep this low profile.
Renard: What about other drug dealers in the area?
Nick: Well, if there were, DEA sent them all running when they mopped up the area. They found the guy they were looking for. The rest is up to us.
Renard: Okay, you take whatever you need. Any hard evidence comes back to me first.
Hank: Yes, sir. [Nick and Hank leave].

Scene: Monroe and Nick arrive at the crime scene using the same dirt bikes that Nick and Hank used before.

Nick: This is where I found his body. [walking ahead]
Monroe: Weird vibes out here.
Nick: His gun was pointing this way [moving to show Monroe around] but I found some buckshot right here. And some strands of hair.
Monroe: Where'd you see her?
Nick: Well, I saw something over this way. And I followed it. [they begin to walk] It was in here that I saw it.
Monroe: Will you stop saying, 'it'?
Nick: All I know is that it was a Blutbad and it had long hair. [Suddenly Monroe stops Nick as he catches the scent of something. He walks ahead] You got something.
Monroe: [walking ahead as Nick follows] Just give me a second, okay? [Monroe stops and looks down]
Nick: What is it?
Monroe: Burdock root. I haven't seen this stuff since I was a kid in scouts. [he picks it up] Oh my God. Yeah, it's a pain-killer. It's like aspirin, you chew on the root. It's also a fine diuretic. [Nick looks mildly unimpressed with Monroe] But I digress. Yeah, we should gear up. This is gonna take a while. [Monroe walks away. They are deeper into the woods now, and Monroe has the lead as he is the one looking for the scent]
Nick: What are you actually smelling?
Monroe: Hell if I know. I just get the scent, you know? It's not a moose, it's not a bear, it's not a deer. We have our own unique bouquet.
Nick: Huh.
Monroe: [catching a scent] Here we go. [they walk cautiously] a knochen hof.
Nick: Let me guess, bone yard?
Monroe: [as he looks at all the bones of all dead animals] Literally speaking, yes. But there is a spiritual meaning. We've taken a life to sustain life, and the sacrifice has to be honored. You know, before digestion begins. [they walk a bit further] Ooh [sniffs deeply] Whoa. We're in the right place. You don't smell that? She marked territory here.
Nick: You mean we're on her property? [they stop for a second. Holly runs away a little ahead of them. Monroe sees her]
Monroe: There! [he runs after her, dropping his bag. They run after her. Monroe is running just as fast as she is. Holly stops and snarls at Monroe. As he changes, Nick stops. Holly growls at Monroe. He roars, and Holly after the shock goes away, roars louder. Monroe goes louder too. Nick looks shocked. Holly runs away and Monroe retracts. Looking awed] Holy crap. That was--holy crap.
[Monroe runs after Holly again, with Nick following behind].
Nick: Don't lose her! [they keep running. Ahead, Holly looks very tired, but when she sees them catching up on her, she runs again. They keep following until they lose sight of her] Where'd she go? [Monroe is sniffing deeply around them.] We lost her.
Monroe: We haven't lost her. [he keeps sniffing] She thinks she's lost us. I can still smell her. I just don't know where it's coming from. [Nick is looking around too. He notices a tree with many branches and sees a metal hook. He looks up]
Nick: I think I know where she is. [Both Monroe and Nick look up to see a treehouse]
Monroe: That's a hell of a hunting blind [they look at each other] I think I should probably go first.
Nick: Yeah, you got this one. [Monroe climbs up]

Scene: At Mrs. Clark's house. Hank arrives and rings the doorbell. Mrs. Clark opens the door.

Mrs. Clark: Yes?
Hank: I'm Hank Griffin, Portland PD. Are you Mrs. Clark?
Mrs. Clark: [getting upset] Yes. Did you find her body?
Hank: No, ma'am. [she looks a little relieved] I don't want to alarm you, but we're looking into some new aspects of Holly's disappearance.
Mrs. Clark: Why would you do that?
Hank: We're trying to establish any connections we can with Tillamook Forest. Did you or any of your family ever spend any time up there?
Mrs. Clark: Yeah, we camped out there a couple of times, but that's about it. My husband wasn't really the outdoors type. We just did it because Holly seemed to enjoy it. We, uh--we had to borrow equipment from a neighbor. I don't even remember where we camped out, actually. Why, did you find something up there?

Hank: We're just trying to expand the territory to see if we can link her disappearance to a suspect.
Mrs. Clark: You have a suspect?
Hank: No, ma'am. [she looks upset again] As soon as I have something concrete to tell you, I will. [she begins to softly cry] But I don't wanna get your hopes up. You think your husband can remember where you camped?
Mrs. Clark: [voice breaking] I'm sorry, but he passed away five years ago.
Hank: Thank you very much for your time. If you can think of anything else that might help us, please call me. [he hands her a business card. He begins to leave but then turns around again] Uh, you said you borrowed some camping equipment from a neighbor. [she nods] Would they know were you camped?
Mrs. Clark: [sighing and shrugging] I mean, he might. Mr. Addison knew a lot about that kind of stuff. But he moved away a long time ago.
Hank: Do you remember his first name?
Mrs. Clark: [nodding] Jimmy.
Hank: Do you know where he moved?
Mrs. Clark: [shaking her head] No, I'm afraid I don't.
Hank: [after a pensive silence] You know, I was one of the officers assigned to help find her. I've never forgotten.
Mrs. Clark: [crying] Thank you. [Hank leaves. As he goes to his car, he makes a call]
Hank: It's Hank, you know those files I had you pull? I'm looking for a Jimmy or James Addison. He was a neighbor to the Clarks. I wanna see if you can find him so I can talk to him. [opening the car door] Yeah, thanks.

Scene: Holly is asleep in her makeshift bed. Monroe is quietly opening the door to see what she's doing. She sees her and looks down to tell Nick.

Monroe: [whispering] She's here. [Nick is climbing up too] She's passed out. I'm going in. [Monroe goes in, and quietly approaches Holly as Nick pokes his head inside. Monroe motions for him to slow his movements and he does. Nick looks around and finds Holly's hair clip. Monroe is trying to see her injury and he looks at Nick] If she goes from my throat. Shoot her. [Nick looks conflicted. Monroe lifts Holly's shirt to reveal the injury from the buckshot. Nick softly hisses as he takes off his backpack]
Nick: She's gonna need some first aid. [Holly wakes up and begins to snarl. They all stop moving. Monroe's eyes shift to red]
Monroe: It's okay [he tried to reach Holly] It's okay. Shhh. It's okay. It's gonna be okay [his eyes change back as he touches her forehead.] Shh. [Holly slowly relaxes and she passes out] She's got a really high fever.

Scene: Sgt. Wu is typing away on the computer with a bunch of boxed around him. A pen in his mouth. Hank arrives at the Precinct.

Hank: Wow, you're starting to look like a Detective.
Sgt. Wu: [removing the pen] I'm starting to feel like one. [pulling some records] I found your Jimmy Addison...but I also found this. [he hands Hank the folder] All the neighbors were interviewed the day Holly Clark disappeared. He had the best alibi.
Hank: Where was he?
Sgt. Wu: In the hospital. Apparently he was bit by a wild dog while hiking in the woods. Had a pretty big bite taken out of him. Shattered his tibia and took out a hunk of muscle.
Hank: They ever find the dog?
Sgt. Wu: Nope.
Hank: Anybody with him?
Sgt. Wu: Not according to his statement.
Hank: [reading the folder] Did he say where he was hiking?
Sgt. Wu: Yep, up near Mt. Hood.
Hank: Well, this doesn't make any sense. He was treated at community hospital in Beaverton. If you're hiking near Mt. Hood, there are closer hospitals than Beaverton.
Sgt. Wu: He would have had to drive 100 miles to get to that hospital.
Hank: Would you drive that far with your leg like that?
Sgt. Wu: What, are you kidding? I'd be screaming my head off. I have a very low tolerance for pain.
Hank: So he was never considered suspect. How did we miss this?
Sgt. Wu: Well, if he was in the hospital the day of her disappearance, it's a pretty damn good alibi.
Hank: You got a last known address?
Sgt. Wu: [showing him a piece of paper with an address] Ready when you are. [Hank grabs his jacket and they leave]

Scene: Back at Holly's treehouse. Nick and Monroe are tending to Holly's injury.

Nick: [pouring water to a cloth] She definitely took some buckshot. [he presses it to her found and covers it. Holly wakes up from either the touch or pain and looks a bit angry]
Monroe: Don't make any sudden moves. [Holly is looking at Nick]
Nick: Holly. Holly Clark.
Monroe: We're here to help you. [she looks at Monroe] Do you understand me?
Nick: I am a police officer [Holly's eyes turn red and she begins to growl].
Monroe: Okay, this is going well. I think we're experiencing a bit of a language barrier.
Nick: Well, she trusts you.
Monroe: Yeah, well, let me try a more direct approach here. [he shifts and so does Holly. Nick looks between them. Monroe retracts] You are Holly Clark. You're hurt. He's putting medicine in your wounds. [Holly retracts. Nick shows Holly her hair clip].
Nick: Holly Clark. [Holly looks at it and begins to get emotional. She looks between Monroe and Nick].
Holly: [very softly and husky] Holly [Nick and Monroe look amazed and happy. Holly passes out. Nick laughs with incredulity at the hopeful moment].

Scene: At what looks to be Micah or Roland's basement. Dustin is tied to a chair and he looks scared, he's also been hit a few times as he is bleeding from a cut above his eyebrow and from his nose.

Dustin: [crying] I told you everything I told the police. I didn't kill your brother. I'm telling you, there was someone else out there.
Roland: That's just what I would have told the cops if I'd killed somebody.
Dustin: [desperate] For God sake's, do you really think that I could have killed your brother? [both Micah and Roland look hesitant as they realize that they made a mistake]
Roland: Well, what do we do with him now?
Micah: [bending to look at Dustin] Keep him here until we find out if he's lying. We go back out there and find whoever did it.
Roland: I think we should kill him now.
Micah: We can't kill him until we find out if he's lying. If he is, he'll wish we would have killed him instead of what we're gonna do to him when we get back. You have a little time to mull that over now. [They leave Dustin who's terrified].

Scene: Hank and Sgt. Wu arrive at Jimmy Addison's home.

Sgt. Wu: Well, there's no green thumb here. [Hank knocks on the door]
Mr. Addison: [through the door] Just a sec. Who is it?
Hank: Detective Griffin and Officer Wu.
Mr. Addison: [opening the door and looking confused] What do you want?
Hank: Are you James Addison?
Mr. Addison: Yes. What's this about?
Hank: Mind if we come in?
Mr. Addison: Uh, well, I was, uh--
Hank: This will only take a minute.
Mr. Addison: [sighs] okay. [letting them in] Come on in. Can I ask what this is about?
Hank: We've reopened the Holly Clark case. [noticing the cane that Addison uses] I believe you were a neighbor of hers when she disappeared?
Mr. Addison: Oh, that was so terrible. She was such a sweet little girl.
Hank: You lent the Clark family some camping equipment.
Mr. Addison: Yes.
Hank: Do you remember where they went camping?
Mr. Addison: Um, not really. I guess I suggested a few places. I don't really remember, that was a long time ago.
Sgt. Wu: You were injured the same day she was taken.
Mr. Addison: [sighs] That's right, I was in the hospital. They talked to me there, that should have been in your reports.
Sgt. Wu: Yeah, we're trying to establish if there was any unusual activity in the neighborhood that day.
Hank: We're going back through all our old interviews to see if anybody remembers seeing anything.
Mr. Addison: Well, I was gone all day, hiking up in Mt. Hood. Back when I used to be able to.
Hank: I like that area. I go hiking there a lot. Whereabouts were you?
Mr. Addison: I was on my way back from Shinning Lake.
Sgt. Wu: Hm. You were by yourself, right?
Mr. Addison: Yeah, I always hiked alone, I liked the solitude.
Hank: But just not on that day.
Mr. Addison: What do you mean?
Hank: Well, you were bitten by a wild dog. That's what the report said.
Mr. Addison: Yeah, if you know all this, why these questions?
Hank: Just one more. Why did you drive all the way from Mt. Hood to get treated?
Sgt. Wu: That's 100 miles away. You could been treated much closer.
Mr. Addison: My doctor works out at Beaverton.
Hank: And your Doctor's name is?
Mr. Addison: Look, I'm on disability because of that day and I really don't appreciate your tone.
Sgt. Wu: They've never found any wild dogs up there.
Mr. Addison: Well, maybe it was a coyote, I don't know. I was being attacked. I didn't stop to consult my animal guide. Look, I don't now what you're trying to do here, but I've done nothing wrong.
Hank: Then you wouldn't mind coming downtown to make a formal statement. [Mr. Addison sighs resigned]

Scene: Nick and Monroe at the treehouse.

Nick: Look I don't know how much buckshot she has in her [he puts a tape of her bandaged wound] but I can't get it all out. All I can do is bandage her up for now. [he tries to make a call]
Monroe: Her fever is worse.
Nick: Use some Ibuprofen.
Monroe: Ugh, it's better than nothing, I guess. Burdock root would be better. [looking for medicine then notices Nick] What are you doing?
Nick: [a little put off] We need some help up here.
Monroe: You're not gonna get any service out here.
Nick: Yeah, I know, I thought I'd try. [he looks around and finds gear with the name Addison written on it] One of us needs to go back. You stay here.
Monroe: Wait, wait, wait. I don't think it's such a great idea to take this girl back into civilization right now. We gotta consider the ramifications.
Nick: We can't leave her in the woods. And what are you gonna do? Live with her up here until she's ready to come home?
Monroe: I don't think she knows what she even is right now. She could hurt somebody.
Nick: Well, she can hurt somebody up here too. Monroe, she already has.
Monroe: [defensively] He was trying to kill her, man!
Nick: Right now she's the one who's hurt and I cannot leave her up here.
Monroe: [sighing] This is one of those 'rock and a hard place' type things, isn't it? [there's a pregnant pause]
Nick: I'll be back as soon as I can. [he leaves and Monroe shakes his head].
[Time passes and Monroe is putting a damp cloth on Holly's forehead].
Monroe: Oh, you're burning up, kid. I'm gonna get you some burdock root. I'll be right back, ok? [Holly moans tiredly] I'm gonna take that as a yes. [Holly grabs him to stop him] No. It's ok. It's ok, I'm coming right back. [he puts her hand away] Ok. [leaves]

Scene: Nick is driving through the woods back to the trail. He is making a call when he notices the Blake brother's truck parked by a tree. He's calling Hank who is at the precinct arriving with Sgt. Wu and Mr. Addison.

Hank: Where are you?
Nick: I found her. I found Holly Clark, she's alive.
Hank: [looking back at Sgt. Wu and Mr. Addison] Oh, my God. He found Holly Clark...alive.
Nick: Yeah, but she's hurt, man. I'm gonna need some help out here. And I've got another problem too. The Blake brothers are out here. I'm gonna go on foot to find them. Oh, one more thing, check a name for me. I found it on a camp stove where I found her.
Hank: [walking into their department] What's the name?
Nick: The name's Addison.
[At the precinct. Hank hangs up and looks behind him to Sgt. Wu and Mr. Addison]
Hank: We found a name on some camping equipment where Holly was found. [Mr. Addison looks nervous] The name's Addison.
Mr. Addison: [backing away] Oh my God. Keep her away from me. She bit me [Hank looks confused while Sgt. Wu looks almost unimpressed] She tried to kill me! [He tries to run as someone scream 'no' but Sgt. Wu stops him. Addison turns to attack Hank but Hank covers and hit Addison on the throat. Four police officers come to arrest him]
Police Officer: Get him down! [Hank is looking at Addison who looks terrified. Hank looks very confused]

Scene: It's gotten dark and the moon is out. The Blake brothers are still in the woods lurking around with guns. They find a marker flag from the crime scene.

Roland: He died here. [Micah hears something].
Micah: Shh. [they follow the noise, guns at the ready. Monroe is the one making the noise as he digs for the burdock root]. Wait, he might not be alone. We wanna get 'em all. [they follow Monroe]

Scene: Monroe gets back to the treehouse. Holly is awake and looks very clammy and pale.

Monroe: [showing her the root] Ok. This is burdock root. [Monroe begins to peel off some of it] You chew on it. Like this [he shows her. He makes a face as he chews his bit as he goes to give a piece to Holly] Here. [she takes it but doesn't like it so she tries to spit it out] No, no, no, I know, I know. It taste like an old tennis shoe. I mean, not that I've eaten all that many of them, but it's good for you. Ok? Just nibble on it. [she takes another piece and chews slowly] Good. There you go. It'll help your fever. Holly...
Holly: [struggling] Y-yes?
Monroe: I think everything's gonna be all right.
Micah: [from outside and below] You, up there! [They have their guns raised to the treehouse] Come down here now.
Monroe: [whispering to a growling Holly] No, no, no, no, no. Shh.
Roland: Maybe you can't hear us! [he shoots]
Monroe: [shouting] Ok, take it easy! [Nick hears but doesn't see Roland shot his gunshot to the tree house again. He runs back to the treehouse]. Ok! I'm coming down! [To Holly] Stay here. I'm coming down! [he climbs down the treehouse while the Blake brothers still have their guns pointed at Monroe. He raises his hands].
Roland: We saw you digging in the woods.
Micah: Right near where our brother was killed. How long you been living out here?
Monroe: Guys, we got a misunderstanding here, ok? I was on a hike, and I came across this old place.
Roland: What were you digging for?
Monroe: Well--and thank you for asking. Uh, it's called burdock root, it's a medicinal root. It's good for all kinds--
Micah: Why'd you kill our brother?
Monroe: Remember what I was just saying about being on a hike?
Micah: I could kill you right now and it might be a mistake, but I don't think I'd lose any sleep over it. [they all hear the sound of wood creaking which startles the brothers. Monroe looks slightly dejected at the fact that they might find Holly]
Roland: There's somebody else up there. Who is it?
Monroe: There's nobody else up there. I'm the only person here.
Roland: When I find somebody up there...you blow his head off. [he climbs up the tree to find nobody. Holly is gone. He looks around] It's empty. Wait a minute. Delmar's sleeping bag...and his coat are up here. [he climbs back down. He approaches Monroe and threatens him with a knife against his throat] I'm gonna cut your throat.
Nick: [pointing his gun to Micah who is aiming at Monroe] Nobody move! [Roland moves to aim his gun to Nick]
Micah: Hey, this is the man who killed our brother.
Nick: He had nothing to do with it. He's my friend, he came here with me. Put your weapons on the ground now.
Roland: You shoot me, he shoots your friend. [he begins to walk away] Stay where you are. [they all hear footsteps approaching]
Micah: What was that?
Roland: I don't know. Where? [As they look around, Holly attacks Micah and chokes him the same way she did Delmar. And Nick shoots Roland to stop him. Monroe goes to check on Holly. She is on the ground tired. She hugs Monroe as she looks relieved that he's ok. Nick sees this and neither know how to take the fact that Holly has formed an attachment to Monroe].

Scene: Hank is at the Clark's home. He rings the doorbell. Mrs. Clark opens the door.

Hank: I have good news. We found Holly alive.
Mrs. Clark: [shocked] Wha--what?

Scene: Nick is dropping off Monroe. As he goes to get out of the car, Holly stops him and she looks sad and scared.

Monroe: [grabbing her hand] Holly, remember, you're not alone. [he smiles at her and Nick is smiling as he watches the small scene. Monroe gets out of the car and as Nick drives away, Holly looks back at Monroe].

Scene: Mrs. Clark is waiting by the window when Nick arrives. Mrs. Clark and Hank get out of the house. Nick walks around to open the door for Holly. She looks slightly scared as she grabs onto Nick. Mrs. Clark is crying as she sees her daughter.

Mrs. Clark: Holly? [laughs with overjoy] Holly. [Holly looks a bit apprehensive. She looks at Nick who nods at her reassuringly. They walk closer] Oh my God.
Nick: It's ok, Holly. It's ok.
Mrs. Clark: [sobbing still] It's ok. [Holly approaches her and show her the hair clip she wore the day she got kidnapped. Mrs. Clark goes to grab it and grabs Holly's hand too] Come here, baby. [Holly begins to cry as she finally is back with her mother] It's ok.
[Nick and Hank look at one another, they look pleased at getting to reunite mother and daughter]

Scene: At the precinct, Renard is giving a speech regarding Holly Clark.

Renard: Two days ago, we made a remarkable discovery. In the forest just outside the city. We found Holly Clark, missing for nine years, but alive. She's been reunited with her mother and we have a suspect in custody.

Scene: At a line-up, Holly and her mother are there as she looks through the glass. Renard, Nick, and Hank are there. Holly, with hair now short and wearing her hair clip, points at Addison.

Hank: She's pointing at number three. Holly's eyes turn red as she glares at Addison.
