A Luisant-Pêcheur (lw-EE-zah pesh-UR; Fr. luisant "shiny" + pêcheur "fisher") is an otter-like Wesen that first appeared in "Kiss of the Muse".

Characteristics[]

When they woge, Luisant-Pêcheur grow brown fur all over their bodies. Their fur includes an insulated underfur and an outer layer of fur protecting the inner layer. This unique structure traps a layer of air and keeps them dry and warm while under water. Their fur is thicker around the lower half of their faces, which have whiskers and otter-like noses. Also, their hands and feet are webbed.

While they are awkward, slow runners on land, Luisant-Pêcheur are incredible swimmers capable of moving underwater at high speeds and holding their breath for an unspecified, yet significant amount of time. However, they are not superhumanly strong and can be easily overpowered and defeated by Grimms. They also don't appear to be any more durable than normal humans.

Behavior[]

Most of the time, they are quiet, kind, and gentle. They are also more at home in the water than on land. They are similar to Eisbibers but are typically less skittish, though they certainly can become quite nervous in the presence of a Grimm, who they are very fearful of. They are intelligent, though as demonstrated by Wayne Dunbar, there are exceptions where intelligent crosses the line and becomes unethically cunning and scheming, especially when motivated by money. ("A Reptile Dysfunction")
