| Comments | He was one of three men who beat Gus George to death right in front of Simon when Simon was 5 years old. After the homicides of Larry Killburn and Declan Henry Burke, Nick, Hank, and Janelle Farris were able to connect Max McClay to both of them. At that point, they knew that he was either the killer or the next victim. They went to his house just as the Mishipeshu-possessed Simon George was about to kill him, saving his life at the time. Along with Hector Ballou, they later set up a sting to catch Mishipeshu returning to Max's home as McClay was kept in a police vehicle nearby. After Hank had seen visions of what Max did to Simon's father along with Larry and Declan, he angrily confronted Max after Mishipeshu had been dealt with, but he had to let him go due to lack of physical evidence tying him to the scene. Max then told everyone to leave with some choice words. Janelle Farris later became possessed by Mishipeshu and returned to Max's home and killed him.
