She was the ex-girlfriend of Roddy Geiger, a violin prodigy, and an outcast at her wealthy school, due to his more humble means. She stopped seeing him because of her parents objection, but still had feelings for him. Other members of the quartet had been Trey Harrison, Roddy Geiger and Marvin. Trey and Marvin conspired with Carter Brimley to cause Roddy to be suspended from school, allowing Carter to replace Roddy in the quartet. Sarah was not involved in the plot but naively accepted the boys' explanation of events.
Sarah attended a rave that Roddy Geiger held for the members of the string quartet to force a confession that they, and not Roddy, murdered their music teacher. When the rats attacked Sarah, Roddy stopped playing, and that caused the rats to disperse. Nick Burkhardt then chased the remaining rats away from her. At the end she asks that Hank and Nick tell Roddy that she is sorry, but Hank tells her that she should do that herself.
