Sebastian Roché is a French actor and writer.

Early LifeEdit

Sebastian Roché was born in Paris, France, on August 4th, 1964. He lived on a sailing boat for six years, traveling the globe. He is fluent in French, English, Spanish, and Italian, which has helped with his acting career. He has also spoken in Russian on General Hospital. He has worked on a number of plays through the Classic Theater, such as Macbeth, The Green Bird, and Hamlet, just to name a few.


After he graduated in 1989 from the Conservatoire, Roché started working in French cinema and television, working with several popular actors over there. He later moved to America, where he has appeared in a few television series and movies, including CSI, The Unit, Law & Order, Merlin (film), and Sex and the City. He then went on to star in a few films: Beowulf, What We Do Is Secret, and New York Serenade. He was in the TV series Roar in 1997 and Odyssey 5 from 2002-2004.

He was on General Hospital from 2007-2009 as a semi-recurring character. He then returned to the show in 2010. He has also appeared on The Mentalist, 24, and 24: Redemption. He appeared in The Adventures of Tintin (film) in 2011. He also starred in the 6th season of Supernatural as a rogue angel and in Fringe as the recurring character Newton. He portrayed Mikael Mikaelson in The Vampire Diaries and The Originals and also appeared in several episodes of Criminal Minds. He and Bitsie Tulloch are also both in the romantic comedy, We Love You, Sally Carmichael! (2017).
