Opening Quote: "Knowledge is Power." – Scientia potentia est

Scene: Doctors bring Captain Renard into the operating room after he was shot by Weston Steward.

Female Doctor: Police Captain Sean Renard. Three wounds, right upper, left lower.
Thoracic Surgeon: Get him on the table. Two, three. [Renard is lifted off of the stretcher and onto an operating table]
Female Doctor: V-tac on scope.
Thoracic Surgeon: All right, let's go. Give me five liters on standby.
[A monitor beeps as the doctors begin surgery on Renard]

Scene: Nick, Hank, Juliette, and Trubel drive to Nick and Juliette's house after what happened at Monroe and Rosalee's wedding, and after learning what happened at the house before Trubel arrived at the wedding.

Hank: [On the phone getting an update on Renard] When did he go in? All right. Do they know how bad it is? Yeah. Yeah, thanks. [He hangs up] Captain's in surgery now. They don't know anything except he's been shot more than once.
Trubel: Three times, I think. He was going to shoot him again, except he saw me. That's when I ran.
Hank: Had you ever seen him before?
Trubel: No. And he didn't know I was a Grimm until he woged.
Nick: He was Wesen?
Trubel: A Hundjäger. He was kind of surprised. That's why I had time to get the machete. He thought I was just a girl.
Juliette: I wish I could have seen his face... before you cut it off.
Nick: Did the Captain say what was in the bottle that he wanted me to take?
Trubel: No, he just said you had to drink it or something really bad would happen. And Adalind did it. [She pauses] Hey, maybe what she did to you won't last.
Juliette: You don't know Adalind.
Hank: She's a Hexenbiest, a witch.
Nick: In more ways than one.
Trubel: Oh yeah, I read about them.
Juliette: That's how she transformed herself to look like me.
Hank: She did what?
Juliette: She made Nick think it was me.
Hank: Why in the hell would she—
Juliette: [Looking at Nick] So Nick would sleep with her. [She pauses] I swear to God, I'm gonna find her, and I'm gonna—
[Sirens wail as they arrive at Nick and Juliette's house]
Trubel: We should turn around.
Nick: We have to deal with this.
[Hank parks]
Trubel: I killed that guy.
Nick: In self-defense.
Hank: They're going to be all over Trubel.
Trubel: What am I supposed to say?
Nick: You're just gonna tell the truth, except for the part about the Hundjäger.
Hank: And Adalind.
Juliette: And the bottle he brought for Nick.
Hank: All right, look, we better figure this out pretty quick. And if we have to lie, we better all be telling the same one.

Scene: Lawrence Anderson stands across the street from Henry Slocombe's house. With his eyes closed, he thinks about some information about Henry and his job. He then opens his eyes and walks towards Henry's house. Inside his house, Henry is on the phone.

Henry: Alexandra's still in Paris. Yeah, she's not home until Thursday. No, no, I'm not having a good time. See, unlike you, I actually miss my girlfriend when she's gone. Yeah.
[Knock at the door]
Henry: Hey, listen, I've got somebody at the door. Can I call you right back? Okay. All right. [He answers the door] Yes?
Lawrence: Henry Slocombe.
Henry: Do I know you?
Lawrence: Sort of. I'm a friend of Danny Rivera's, Lawrence Anderson.
Henry: Sure, yeah, Dr. Anderson. [He shakes Lawrence's hand] Yeah, you're working on the CVA project up in Arlington.
Lawrence: Right.
Henry: Yeah.
Lawrence: I'm sorry we've never had a chance to meet face-to-face.
Henry: Oh, me too. Danny's always spoken very highly of you. So what can I do for you?
Lawrence: Look I'm-I'm sorry to bother you. I-I just got into town for a conference. Um, I'm afraid I have some bad news. Danny has been in a terrible accident.
Henry: What?
Lawrence: I didn't want to do this over the phone.
Henry: Oh, my God, I hadn't even heard anything. I'm sorry. Why don't you come on in? Please. Come on in.
Lawrence: [He goes inside] I probably should have called.
Henry: Oh, that's okay. W-w-what have you heard? I-how bad is it?
Lawrence: I don't have all the details—some sort of severe head injury. [He woges into a Gedächtnis Esser]
Henry: Wha-
[Lawrence lunges at Henry]
Henry: No!
[Lawrence wrestles Henry to the ground and attaches his tentacles to the back of Henry's head to steal some of Henry's memories]

Scene: Doctors continue the surgery on Captain Renard as they pull out the first bullet.

Thoracic Surgeon: Bullet fragment hit the pericardial sac.
Female Doctor: We're seeing a liver laceration. The bullet has tumbled. It's pressing on his spine.
Male Doctor: He's bleeding like a sieve.
Thoracic Surgeon: That's one. [The bullet clinks as he puts it into a small metal bowl]
[A monitor beeps as the doctors continue the surgery]

Scene: Nick, Hank, Juliette, and Trubel get out of the vehicle, and Trubel gets ready to speak to the police.

Trubel: What if they arrest me?
Nick: All right, just remember it was self-defense.
Juliette: [Wiping up the blood on Trubel's head from her hitting her head] What about the machete? How's she gonna explain that?
Nick: Just tell them it was mine, and I keep it in that room.
[The scene shifts to Wu looking at the diaries in Trubel's room]
Franco: Hey, Burkhardt and Griffin just got here. [He waits for a response] Did you hear me?
Wu: [He looks up] What?
Franco: I said they're here, Burkhardt and Griffin.
[Wu gets up and puts the diary on the bed as he and Franco go to meet up with Nick and Hank. The scene shifts to outside the house]
Wu: Hey. Where you guys been?
Hank: We were at a wedding. Had our phones turned off.
Franco: [Looking at the vehicle they arrived in] Isn't that the Captain's car?
Nick: Yeah. Hey, who's the primary on this?
Wu: Uh, Meacham and Pogue. Listen, I've got some bad news.
Hank: We know. Captain's been shot. We just got off the phone with the hospital. He's in surgery.
Franco: He's lucky to be alive.
Wu: When we brought him out of the house, I didn't think he was gonna make it to the hospital. [He notices Trubel] I know you. The criminology student, right?
Trubel: Uh, yeah.
Juliette: Yeah, Theresa's been staying with us.
Wu: Good thing you weren't here.
Hank: She was.
Franco: Did you see what happened?
Trubel: Yes.
Nick: She killed the shooter.
Wu: [In shock] What?
Franco: The guy's head was cut off.
[Everyone looks at Trubel and she shrugs]
Nick: He tried to kill her after he shot the Captain.
Hank: All right, we better get with Meacham and Pogue on this.
Franco: Yeah, right. Inside.
Nick: [To Trubel] Stay here. We're gonna talk to them first. [He leaves]
Juliette: [To Trubel] Are you okay?
Trubel: Sort of.
[The scene shifts to Nick, Hank, and Wu going inside the house to see the results of the shooting and the decapitation of Weston Steward]
Wu: [Looking at the blood on the ground] This is where we found the Captain.
Hank: Where's the shooter?
[Franco points to Weston's head at the bottom of the stairs]
Wu: The rest of him's upstairs.
Nick: Have you identified him?
Wu: Yeah. And it's gonna be a mess, 'cause he was an FBI agent. Name's Weston Steward. He was carrying a Canadian passport with his picture and the name Walter Rathenau, along with a lot of euros.
Franco: He probably wasn't planning on sticking around.
Wu: So Theresa was staying in the guest room?
Nick: Yeah.
Wu: There are bullet holes in the door. [Walking up the stairs] And I found a book, kind of a weird book. I mean, is it her book? It's like a diary, really old, talk about cutting of people's heads. But they're not really people. They have really strange names.
Nick: [Looking at Weston's body] Yeah, the book's mine. It's been handed down in my family for a long time.
Wu: What kind of book is it?
Nick: Just a bunch of stories. [He goes into Trubel's room]
Wu: Really weird ones.
Nick: [To Detectives Meacham and Pogue] Hey.
Meacham: Hey, Burkhardt, Hank. Last place we expected to get a case like this.
Pogue: You weren't here when it happened, right?
Nick: We were at a wedding.
Meacham: [To Hank] And you were with him?
Hank: Since about 3:00.
Pogue: You know why Captain Renard was here?
Nick: Could have been a case we were working on.
Meacham: You know anything about this Weston Steward or why he shot the Captain?
Nick: No.
Pogue: Got any idea who killed the shooter?
[Nick looks down at the Grimm diaries on Trubel's bed]
Pogue: He didn't cut off his own head.
Nick: That would be Theresa. She was staying here. It was self-defense. He tried to attack her after he shot the Captain.
Hank: She called 911, then came and got us.
Pogue: We'll need to talk to her.
Meacham: She got a last name?
Nick: Rubel. And she's waiting outside.
[The scene shifts to Juliette and Trubel outside]
Trubel: Hey, maybe it'd be better if I just got out of here.
Juliette: No, I think that would be worse. Just remember what Nick told you.
[Nick, Hank, Meacham, and Pogue walk up to them]
Pogue: Hey Juliette.
Juliette: Hey.
Nick: Theresa, these are Detectives Pogue and Meacham. They just need to ask you a few questions.
Trubel: Okay.
Meacham: We just want you to walk us through what happened.
Hank: We got company.
[FBI agents pull up]
Meacham: FBI.
Pogue: It's about time.
[Meacham and Pogue go to talk to the FBI agents]
Trubel: FBI? What are they doing here?
Nick: The guy you killed used to be a federal agent.
Trubel: What?
Nick: He was a bad guy. And we need to deal with this.
[Pogue and Meacham point Trubel out for the FBI agents, and Trubel tries to leave, but she is stopped by Nick]
Nick: You cannot run.

Scene: Lawrence Anderson finishes his attack on Henry Slocombe, stealing more memories of what Henry does for his job and his personal life.

[Lawrence unattaches his tentacles from Henry's head. Lawrence leaves Henry lying on the ground and gathers his things to leave, but Henry's girlfriend Alexandra arrives home]
Lawrence: Alexandra.
Alexandra: Do I know you?
Lawrence: You're supposed to be in Paris.
Alexandra: [Noticing Henry] Henry? [She runs over to him] Are you alright?
Henry: Who are you?
Alexandra: [Noticing the blood on the back of Henry's head] Who... [She looks at Lawrence and he drops his bags]
Alexandra: Oh, my God.
[Alexandra runs to try to call 911 and Lawrence goes after her. When he grabs her, she screams. She bites him, causing him to scream. Lawrence grabs a little statue and hits Alexandra in the head, killing her]
Lawrence: [Distraught] You were supposed to come home tomorrow. [He grabs Alexandra's car keys and drives away in her car]

Scene: The FBI agents, Special Agents Chavez and Rosten come over to speak with Trubel.

Chavez: I'm Special Agent Chavez. This is Special Agent Rosten. The detectives have filled us in on some of what happened. Detective Burkhardt, we understand that this is your house, and you were not here at the time of the attack?
Nick: That is correct.
Chavez: But miss Rubel was staying here?
Nick: In our upstairs guest room.
Rosten: [To Trubel] Walk us through what happened.
Nick: I should come along with you.
Chavez: That won't be necessary.
[Trubel, Chavez, and Rosten go inside the house]
Juliette: [To Nick] She can handle this, Nick.
Nick: What if she gets tripped up on a detail?
Hank: We've got to let them do their job. Can't let it look like we had anything to do with it.
Nick: They're gonna want formal statements.
Juliette: Then you're gonna have to go into the precinct.
Nick: I don't want you staying here alone.
Juliette: No, I'm not leaving. It's our house.
[The scene shifts to inside the house as Trubel walks the FBI agents through what happened]
Trubel: Okay, he-he opened the door and was leaving, and then-and then I heard these sounds, and-and I didn't know what they were until he fell back into the room on the floor. [Flashback of Renard falling to the ground in "Blond Ambition"]
Chavez: What happened then?
Trubel: I looked up and saw the guy with the gun. [Flashback of Weston Steward coming into the house in "Blond Ambition"] And he saw me so I ran, and he shot.
Pogue: [Pointing to the hole in the wall] That's the bullet hole. [Flashback of Weston shooting at Trubel in "Blond Ambition"]
Rosten: Had you ever seen the man who shot at you before?
Trubel: [Looking at Weston's head] No.
Rosten: What happened next?
Trubel: Well, I ran up the stairs, and he came after me. [She leads Chavez, Rosten, Meacham, and Pogue to her room] I ran in here, and I shut the door, and I grabbed the chair. I-I put it against the door. [Flashback of Trubel putting the chair against the door and hitting her head in "Blond Ambition"] Then he shot, so I jumped back, and I hit my head there, and then I fell back somewhere around here. Um, and by the time I was getting up, he was already coming through the door.
Chavez: Where'd you get the machete? It was on the chair.
Trubel: He was coming after me, so I just-I shoved him into the hallway and-and closed my eyes, and I swung as hard as I could.
Meacham: You always keep a machete in your room?
Trubel: It's not mine. It's Nick's. Uh, Detective Burkhardt's.
Chavez: How long have you been staying here?
[Wu stands outside the door, listening]
Trubel: A few weeks.
Meacham: We're gonna need you to come down to the precinct and make a formal statement.
[Wu walks away]

Scene: In Austria, Viktor is on the phone in his office area when Rispoli comes in to let him know what happened to Weston.

Viktor: We can't afford to have her elected. I don't care what it costs. Dig up whatever you can. Make something up if you have to, but bring her down.
[There is a knock at the door and the door opens as Rispoli comes in]
Viktor: Is this important?
Rispoli: Weston Steward shot Sean Renard.
Viktor: [To the person on the phone] I'll ring you back. [To Rispoli] And he got away with it?
Rispoli: Not exactly. He was beheaded.
Viktor: Burkhardt killed Steward?
Rispoli: We don't know. But it did happen in his house, where the shooting took place.
Viktor: So Sean Renard is dead.
Rispoli: No, he's in the hospital. I haven't been able to get details except that it's critical.
Viktor: I'll have to inform the King. My uncle does love his bastard son. Should he lose a second son, there will be hell to pay.
Rispoli: What happens if the King finds out Weston Steward was one of ours?
Viktor: That would be unfortunate. It is imperative that you tie Mr. Steward to Mr. Burkhardt instead of us.
[Rispoli leaves]

Scene: Lawrence Anderson calls a businessman that he is working with to inform him of what happened with Alexandra.

[Lawrence throws the statue he killed Alexandra with into a river and calls a businessman]
Businessman: Why are you calling?
Lawrence: I ran into a problem. We have to abort.
Businessman: Are you done?
Lawrence: I have one more.
Businessman: Then you can't leave.
Lawrence: You don't understand.
Businessman: Whatever the problem, it's your problem. If you don't finish, then it's my problem. If that happens, it really will be your problem.
Lawrence: This could get serious. We have collateral.
Businessman: Then I'm coming up there. But you are not to leave until it's done.
[They both hang up]

Scene: Chavez is in Trubel's room looking at Trubel's chess piece before she looks through the diary.

[While looking at the Grimm diary, Chavez woges into a Steinadler]
Rosten: We good for them to take the body?
Chavez: [She reverts and turns around] Yeah. What do you make of the girl?
Rosten: She sees a police captain get shot, killer tries to shoot her, and she chops his head off? If it was my daughter, she'd be a basket case.
Chavez: Yeah. Girl's not normal.
Rosten: If she was, she'd be dead. [Looking at the diary in her hand] What's that?
Chavez: Nothing. [She puts the diary away and they both leave the room]

Scene: Juliette is allowed to go back inside the house after the crime scene unit finishes their investigation and Weston's head and body are removed.

CSU Officer: We're done. Sorry it's such a mess.
[Juliette goes inside and looks around at the results of Weston's attack. She then goes into her room and grabs the negligee that Adalind wore before sleeping with Nick. There is a knock at the door and Juliette throws the negligee into the garbage]
Juliette: [Seeing that Monroe and Rosalee are at the door] No. What are you doing here? You're supposed to be on your honeymoon.
Monroe: Couldn't do it.
Rosalee: Not with what happened.
Juliette: Please, you guys, don't let us drag you into this more than you've already been dragged into it.
Monroe: Juliette, are you kidding me? You think we could go anywhere with what's going on?
Juliette: You could try.
Rosalee: We don't want to try.
Monroe: Where's Nick?
Juliette: He had to take Trubel to the precinct.
[Monroe and Rosalee go inside the house]
Monroe: [Looking at the blood on the floor] Is this where Renard was shot?
Juliette: Yeah.
Rosalee: Oh, my God. [She hugs Juliette] Juliette, this is terrible.
Juliette: I'm just really sorry that all this stuff happened on your wedding day.

Scene: In an interrogation room, Trubel is questioned more by Pogue and Meacham while Chavez and Rosten watch from outside the room.

Meacham: Did Captain Renard tell you why he came to see Detective Burkhardt?
Trubel: He said he needed to talk to him.
Pogue: Did he say anything else before he was shot?
Trubel: I said Nick was at the wedding and told him where it was, and that's when he walked out the door and got shot.
Meacham: And you said you didn't know the identity of the man who shot Captain Renard?
Trubel: Never seen him.
Pogue: What did he do when he came into the house?
Trubel: I think he was gonna shoot the Captain again. Then he saw me and decided to shoot me instead, so...
Rosten: [To Chavez] Her story's consistent.
Pogue: You took the Captain's car?
Trubel: Yeah, I didn't have a choice.
Meacham: But you left the scene of a crime.
Trubel: To get Nick.
Rosten: [To Chavez] Everything she says matches the crime scene. There's no link between her and Steward, no motive other than self-defense. I think she's telling the truth.

Scene: Nick and Hank wait for Trubel at their desks and Hank tracks down the plane Adalind took.

Hank: [On the phone] Flight number and arrival time? All right, thanks. [He hangs up]
[Nick brings Hank a cup of coffee]
Hank: Did I ask for coffee?
Nick: No.
Hank: Nick, you got to take it easy. You don't want to look nervous.
Nick: Do I look nervous?
Hank: Second cup of coffee I didn't ask for. Now sit down. Don't drink any more of that. Just found out where Adalind is. She boarded Lufthansa Flight Number 4582 through Frankfurt to Vienna.
Nick: She's going back to the Royals.
Hank: Makes sense. She thinks they have her baby.
Nick: They must have made some kind of deal.
Hank: Yeah, you. But she's gonna be very upset when she finds out they don't have the child. [Watching Nick take a drink of his coffee] Stop with the coffee, okay?
[Chavez and Rosten walk up]
Rosten: We're done here for now. Miss Rubel's story is consistent. No reason to charge her for anything.
Chavez: She's handling it pretty well for someone who just cut off a guy's head.
Nick: Well, if I knew something like this was gonna happen, I would have never left her alone in the house.
[Nick and Chavez stare at each other]
Hank: As long as you're here, you have any idea why your agent would want to shoot our Captain?
Chavez: Weston Steward went off the grid several weeks ago. We've had no contact. We don't know who he's working with or why. So, if you guys have any ideas... we're open. We'll be talking.
[Chavez and Rosten leave, and Nick and Hank go to meet up with Trubel]
Hank: Was she staring at you?
Nick: Yeah, seemed like.
Hank: What's she seeing?
Nick: Maybe something Trubel said.
[Trubel comes out of the interrogation area]
Hank: [To Trubel] How'd it go?
Trubel: Okay. Can we get out of here now?
Hank: All right, you guys go. I'm gonna check on the Captain.
Nick: Let me know what you find out.

Scene: Lawrence sits at a table in a restaurant with his laptop as he goes through the memories he stole from Henry to get remote web access to Henry's work. As Lawrence transfers information, a tech from Henry's work notices something is going on.

Tech: [On the phone] Kent, I think you better come down here.
Kent Vickers: [He walks up] What's the problem?
Tech: I think Dr. Slocombe is logged into the CVA operation.
Kent: Are the access codes correct?
Tech: Yes, but I think he's off-site. Want me to call this in?
Kent: Eh, probably just working from home. As long as the access codes are right, I'm not too worried. Let me see what he's doing. [He calls Henry's phone, which Lawrence has sitting next to him, and he doesn't answer it, so Kent gets Henry's voice mail]
Henry's Voice Mail: Hi. You've reached Dr. Henry Slocombe. Please leave me a message.
Kent: He's not answering.
Tech: Well, he just logged out.
[Lawrence leaves the restaurant]

Scene: Wu is sitting in the waiting room at the hospital trying to get an update on Renard when Hank arrives.

Hank: Hey. What do you know?
Wu: Oh. [He exhales sharply] Well, he's been in surgery over three hours. Remember when you told me that there were things that you'd seen that you couldn't explain?
Hank: Yeah.
Wu: I don't know. Maybe I'm just tired, but, uh... that book of Nick's was not a normal book. There were pictures in it, and the drawings looked a little like what I thought I saw that time. And from what he wrote, I got the impression that these monsters were somehow inside people, like they're possessed. [He scoffs] Am I making any sense at all?
Hank: Hey... monsters do live inside people. We deal with them every day.
Wu: This is different. I think whoever wrote this stuff really saw what they drew. When you told me that you'd seen things, what'd you mean?
Hank: I was just saying that when people get angry, out of control, their faces start to change. It's like they're not even human... something like that.
Wu: [He scoffs] I don't know. I don't know.
Hank: Nobody sees the world the same way. And you can't explain everything.
Wu: I'm still having nightmares.
Hank: Wu... I got to tell you something. Last year I thought I was losing my mind, too, until—
Thoracic Surgeon: [Walking up] Sergeant.
[Wu and Hank stand up]
Wu: Yes, Doctor. Uh, this is Detective Griffin.
Thoracic Surgeon: I wish I had better news. Captain Renard is out of surgery, but, well, he's lost a great deal of blood, and there's a lot of damage. His kidneys may shut down. It's appropriate that you contact his next of kin and have them get here as soon as possible.
Hank: Thank you.
Wu: Thank you.
[The scene shifts to Renard in his bed and a monitor beeps]

Scene: Juliette, Monroe, and Rosalee talk about what Renard wanted Nick to drink.

Rosalee: The Captain brought something for Nick to drink. That's what Trubel had in the bottle that broke, right?
Juliette: Yeah. [She hands a glass of water to Monroe]
Monroe: Thank you.
Rosalee: Then we have to find out what was in that bottle.
Monroe: I bet the Captain knows, not that he's in any position to tell us.
Juliette: Adalind would know.
Rosalee: I don't think she's going to volunteer anything.
Monroe: Well, I sure would like to ask her and not politely.
[Nick and Trubel arrive home]
Juliette: How did it go?
Nick: No charges were filed, so we're good for now. Monroe, Rosalee, you shouldn't be here.
Juliette: I know. They should be on their honeymoon.
Rosalee: Nick.
Monroe: Honestly, man... what, are we gonna be hanging out on a beach with what's happening here?
Trubel: I am so sorry I screwed up your wedding. I didn't know everybody was—
Rosalee: Trubel, you did what you had to do for Nick.
Monroe: And what we got to do right now is find Adalind.
Nick: Well, that's not gonna happen 'cause she's on a flight to Vienna.
Rosalee: She's headed back to Vienna?
Monroe: How's the Captain doing, anyway?
Nick: Not good. He might not survive.
Trubel: I had the stuff you needed in my hand. I should've just kept going right to you.
Juliette: Adalind did this, not you.
Rosalee: We just have to find out how.
Juliette: She slept with Nick.
Rosalee: Oh, my God.
Monroe: What?
Nick: It's not what you think.
Monroe: Well, that's good to hear, because what I'm thinking is pretty damn awful.
Nick: It wasn't Adalind.
Rosalee: Oh, no?
Nick: Okay, it was Adalind, but she didn't look like Adalind. She somehow made herself look just like Juliette.
Rosalee: Oh, no.
Monroe: That is not a good "oh, no."
Rosalee: Oh, I'm just hoping this isn't some sort of Verfluchte Zwillingsschwester.
Trubel: A what?
Rosalee: An entwining twin curse. They make a mess of things.
Monroe: All right, well, best place to start cleaning up a mess is the spice shop.
Rosalee: Nick, we won't let Adalind do this to you, okay?
Nick: Okay. [He and Rosalee hug]
Nick: [To Monroe] Hey. Look, man... I don't want you screwing up your life because of me.
Monroe: Dude, I wouldn't even have a life to screw up if it wasn't for you, okay? So quit complaining. [He and Rosalee leave]
Trubel: Hey, maybe we should be going to the trailer. Maybe there's something—
Juliette: No, not tonight, all right? We all just need to get some rest.
Trubel: Okay. I guess I'll see you guys tomorrow. [She goes upstairs]
Juliette: Do you feel any different?
[Nick thinks about it]
Juliette: Can you talk to me?
Nick: I don't know. It happened so fast. Oh, wow. This is, um... really screwed up. And you know I would never have done that—
Juliette: You really couldn't tell that Adalind wasn't me?
Nick: No. No, she looked and sounded exactly like you.
Juliette: I guess she wasn't interested in talking.
Nick: Look, I'll sleep on the couch.
Juliette: [She grabs Nick's hand] Hey. We're not doing that again.
[They both head upstairs]

Scene: Chavez is looking at Trubel's record until Rosten comes into her office.

Chavez: Rubel.
Rosten: [He knocks on Chavez's office door] Hey, found some interesting stuff on Weston Steward. Last call he made was to a number in Rotterdam- GQR Industries.
Chavez: We know what the connection is?
Rosten: Working on it. They also found Steward's car parked a block away from Burkhardt's house, packed suitcase inside.
Chavez: Where's the suitcase?
Rosten: They just brought it in.
Chavez: Let's have a look.
[They leave the office to go to the suitcase]

Scene: Trubel is in bed looking through the Grimm diary.

[Flashback of Monroe telling Nick his eyes are normal in "Blond Ambition". Trubel puts the diary away and turns off the light. The scene shifts to Nick lying awake in bed. Flashback of Nick seeing and then kissing Adalind while she was disguised as Juliette in "Blond Ambition". Nick gets up and starts cleaning up the blood from the bottom of the stairs and Juliette soon joins him]
Juliette: I was wondering where you were.
Nick: I didn't want you to wake up to this. You should go back to bed.
[Juliette puts on gloves]
Nick: No, let me do this.
Juliette: Not alone.
[They both scrub the floor]
Nick: I don't know. Maybe this is a good thing.
Juliette: What do you mean?
Nick: For us. My not being a Grimm anymore.

Scene: Chavez and Rosten go through Weston's suitcase.

Rosten: Three pairs boxer shorts, six pairs socks, whoa. Here's something. [He pulls out a small bag and hands it to Chavez who unzips it]
Chavez: Euros, Canadian dollars, pesos, rubles, passports from Germany, France, United Kingdom. He was definitely ready to roll.
Rosten: Looks like Mr. Steward was working for someone other than the FBI.
Chavez: We need to check bank accounts, phone records, run this guy down.

Scene: Juliette comes downstairs while Nick is on the phone getting info about a new case.

Nick: How many bodies? Any witnesses? Okay, I can be there in 15 minutes. Okay. [He hangs up. To Juliette] You get any more sleep last night?
Juliette: Not much. You gonna be okay?
Nick: I don't know. It's weird, you know, not being weird anymore, just being a regular cop.
Juliette: You were really good at it before.
Nick: Well, I guess we'll see if I still am.
[Nick and Juliette kiss as Nick gets ready to go to work]
Juliette: Bye.
[The scene shifts to Trubel as she watches Nick drive away before going downstairs]
Trubel: Morning.
Juliette: Morning.
Trubel: You okay?
Juliette: Working on it. How about you?
Trubel: Same. Hey, can I borrow your bike today?
Juliette: Sure. You don't have to ask. Just be careful.
Trubel: I will.
Juliette: Hey, what I mean is... you're the only Grimm in town now, so... you need to be careful.

Scene: At Henry's house, Wu tells Nick and Hank about Henry and leads them to Alexandra's body.

Wu: Housekeeper let herself in about 8:30 this morning. House belongs to Dr. Henry Slocombe, works at Sitre Corporation here in Portland.
Hank: Defense contractor, right?
Wu: Yeah. Housekeeper discovered the body, called 911. She didn't see anyone entering or leaving. Front door was closed and locked. We checked the premises, no signs of any break in.
Hank: We got an I.D. on the vic?
Wu: Alexandra Hahn, Slocombe's girlfriend.
Nick: [Examining Alexandra's body] Where's Slocombe?
Wu: When we first got here, Slocombe was sitting on the stairs, pretty out of it. Couldn't or wouldn't answer any questions, including who he was. He had four wounds on the back of his head. We sent him to the hospital.
Nick: Any history of domestic disturbances?
Wu: No. No record of any. About ten minutes after we got here, the next-door neighbor, Mrs. Sellers, came over. She said she heard a scream, saw Dr. Slocombe drive off pretty fast in his Porsche. She assumed it was an argument until she saw us.
Hank: He could've been dumping evidence. We know what time Slocombe got back?
Wu: His car's not here, and it's not in the street.
Nick: Once Slocombe drove off, how'd he get back?
Hank: Maybe he dumped the car, too, came back in a taxi.
Nick: What if there was someone else here? We get a license on that car?
Wu: We did. I assume you want an A.P.B.?
Hank: You assume correctly.
Wu: Okay. [He walks away]
Nick: Better get to the hospital, see if Dr. Slocombe has remembered anything yet.

Scene: Nick and Hank get information about what happened to Henry from his doctor at the hospital.

Henry's Doctor: He suffered some pretty severe trauma. He's got four wounds to the back of his head. The CAT scan and the MRI show severe swelling in the hippocampus and thalamus, where the brain stores most of its memory.
Hank: Which means what?
Henry's Doctor: Which means I'm not surprised he's having trouble remembering anything. [She opens the door to Henry's room to show him staring off blankly]
Nick: You have any idea what made the wounds?
Henry's Doctor: No. But I took pictures. [She shows them a picture of the wounds on the back of Henry's head] I've never seen anything like it.

Scene: Nick and Hank go to the trailer to try to find out if a Wesen is responsible for Henry's injuries.

Hank: How'd you find this place?
Nick: A friend of Juliette's is a real estate agent. I told her I wanted a few acres that were hard to get to and not easy to find. It has no address, and it's not in my name.
Hank: Well, somebody found it.
Nick: That's Juliette's bike.
Hank: You expecting her?
Trubel: [She jumps out of the trailer with a sword] Sorry. I wasn't sure it was you.
[All three of them go inside the trailer]
Hank: What are you doing?
Trubel: I figure I'd better learn as much as I can, now that, you know, everything's changed.
Nick: You rode all the way out here?
Trubel: It only took me two hours. It wasn't that bad. What are you guys doing here?
Nick: We got a case we can't figure out.
Trubel: Wesen-related? Oh, sorry. How would you know? I-I didn't mean it like that.
Nick: It's okay.
Hank: Really?
Nick: No, not really, but we've got to deal with this. Look... I'm glad you're here. We could use your help.
Trubel: All right, what are we looking for?
Hank: Some Wesen that probes the back of your head and you can't remember anything.
[They begin searching the diaries]

Scene: The businessman arrives at a restaurant and sits by Lawrence to discuss what happened.

Businessman: We've run out of time. You need to deliver.
Lawrence: Everything you need is right up here [He points to his head] so stop threatening me.
Businessman: We have to prove to our client that what you're stealing is worth the fee we're asking.
Lawrence: [He uses one of Henry's memories to get some evidence and writes it down] Give them this. This is a key piece to the CVA project, compliments of Henry Slocombe.
Businessman: Tell me about the collateral.
Lawrence: Slocombe's girlfriend it was unavoidable.
Businessman: Did you leave it clean?
Lawrence: Of course. They can't tie me to anything. I just need to dump the car and get another, unless you would like to buy me one.
Businessman: Just hurry up and get to Vickers. And don't call me again until it's done. And get rid of that car. [He leaves]
[The scene switches to Lawrence outside the restaurant walking up to the car]
Officer: Sir, stop where you are. Keep your hands where we can see them.
Lawrence: Did I do something wrong?
Officer: We need to see your I.D. You the owner of this vehicle?
Lawrence: No, no, it belongs to a friend of mine Henry Slocombe. He loaned it to me for the weekend.

Scene: In the trailer, Trubel finds the Wesen they're looking for.

Trubel: Hey, check this one out. The Gedächtnis Esser? Looks like some kind of memory eater.
Hank: That would explain the condition of our victim.
Trubel: [She reads the entry in the diary] "It is not known how this Wesen removes the memories of its victims, only that it can. I surmise it has something to do with the electrical charges in the brain. After an attack the victims are usually diagnosed with advanced dementia. From interviewing some of these unfortunate souls, I can see why. This is one of the most heinous Wesen I have ever encountered. They rob the victims of their very lives by stealing their past and leaving them void of any human connection, devastating to their loved ones, and leaving the victim unable to identify the attack or the attacker. Justice within the confines of the law is, therefore, impossible."
Nick: [His phone rings and he answers] Burkhardt. When? Okay, got it. They just picked up a suspect driving the victim's car.
Trubel: It's got to be the Gedächtnis Wesen, right?
Hank: All right, we're gonna need you to come with us.

Scene: An unknown woman walks through the hospital and stands outside Renard's room.

Woman on the intercom: Dr. Forest, please dial 118. Dr. Forest, please dial 118.
[A monitor beeps. Renard starts seizing and the monitor beeps rapidly]
Woman on the intercom: Code Blue to I.C.U. Code Blue to I.C.U.
Female Doctor: Let's get a bag. Come on.
Male Doctor: I'll clear the line.
Female Doctor: I've got no pulse. We're losing pressure.
Renard flatlines]
Female Doctor: He's asystolic.
Male Doctor: Clear. Both sides flat.
Thoracic Surgeon: No heart activity. We're losing him.
[The woman watches from outside the room as the doctors try to save Renard]
Female Doctor: Nothing. I got no readings.
Male Doctor: Clear.
[The woman gasps]

Scene: Nick and Hank interrogate Lawrence at the precinct.

Lawrence: I met Henry Slocombe through a mutual friend, Danny Rivera. I think it was 2007.
Hank: When was the last time you saw Dr. Slocombe?
Lawrence: Last night. His girlfriend, Alexandra, had just returned early from a trip. They got into a bit of a fight, and I began to feel like a third wheel, so I left. I think it was a little bit after 7:00. He lent me his car so I could check into a hotel.
Nick: What hotel?
Lawrence: The Lucia, on Broadway. I checked out this morning and was in the process of returning his Porsche when I got pulled in here. Can you tell me what this is about?
Hank: Dr. Slocombe was attacked last night, and Alexandra was murdered.
Lawrence: Oh, my God. Oh, my God. This this is terrible. T-They're both dead?
Hank: Dr. Slocombe's still alive. He's in the hospital.
Lawrence: This is unbelievable. Do you have any idea who did it?
Hank: We were hoping you might.
Lawrence: Now I understand why I'm here. I must be a suspect. How can I help?
Hank: We need you to write down everything you remember about last night.
Lawrence: Of course. You-you said that that Henry is in the hospital. Is he okay?
Hank: The injury was pretty traumatic. We've been unable to talk to him.
Lawrence: I'd like to see him. Am I under arrest?
Hank: No, sir. Thank you for your cooperation.
[Nick and Hank leave the room and watch Lawrence write down what he knows]
Hank: You pick up anything?
Nick: No. Not that that means anything.
Hank: Maybe he's telling the truth. The car wasn't reported stolen.
Nick: Well, even if he's lying, it's gonna be hard to tie him to the crime without any fingerprints or any witnesses that remember him. We don't even have a motive. Look, there's only one kind of Wesen that can make those kind of marks, and if that's not him, we are wasting our time.
Hank: Only one way to find out.
Nick: Let's give him some Trubel.
[Nick and Hank go back into the room after Lawrence finishes writing]
Lawrence: This is everything that I can remember.
Hank: You're free to go.
Nick: But the Porsche belongs to Dr. Slocombe. That stays with us.
Lawrence: Of course. I understand.
[Wu comes in]
Hank: The Sergeant will return all your personal belongings.
Wu: Sir, if you'll follow me.
[Lawrence leaves the precinct, and after crossing the street, Trubel runs into him and tries to take his bag]
Lawrence: [He grabs Trubel's shoulders] What the hell are you doing? [He woges and Trubel runs away. He then retracts] You're right outside a police station! You idiot. [He picks up his bag and continues walking]
Trubel: [She gets into the car where Nick and Hank are waiting] It's him.
Nick: The Gedächtnis Esser?
Trubel: Yeah, he woged. Got to say, seriously ugly in real life.
Hank: All right, you better stay with him.
Nick: You have the new phone?
Trubel: Uh... yep.
Nick: Make sure it's turned on.
Trubel: It is. I got this.
Nick: Be careful.
Trubel: Yeah, yeah. [She gets out of the car and follows Lawrence]

Scene: At the hospital, the doctors continue to try to revive Renard as the woman watches.

[The defibrillator pads charge]
Male Doctor: Clear.
[Renard is still flatlined]
Female Doctor: No response.
Male Doctor: Clear.
Female Doctor: I got no response.
Male Doctor: Nothing.
Thoracic Surgeon: All right, let's call it. Time of death, 1:34 P.M.
[The woman looks on]
