Opening Quote: "Rats! They fought the dogs, and killed the cats..." – The Pied Piper of Hamelin

Scene: Nick carries Trubel to his car as Adalind watches on the security monitor.

Adalind: Oh, my God.
Nick: [He puts Trubel in the backseat] Trubel. Can you hear me? Trubel!
Trubel: [Weakly] Nick...
Adalind: [She goes into the garage] Nick!
Nick: It's Trubel.
Adalind: I know. Is she alive?
Nick: I'm taking her to the hospital. Stay here. Lock the doors. I'll call you as soon as I know anything. [He drives away]

Scene: Robby Kyle, Johnny Rodwick, and Chester Avery get ready to go to the dump.

Selina: Hey, Robby. You should stay home tonight. More fun to be had here.
Johnny: Not for us. Unless you're offering.
Selina: Not even in your dreams.
[Robby, Johnny, and Chester get into a truck]
Johnny: We takin' any trophies tonight? I want a trophy!
Robby: No, we're not takin' any damn trophies.
Chester: I want a rat's ass!
Robby: Well, you're not gettin' it. We're just gonna have a little fun, that's all.
Johnny: Whoo!
[They drive away]

Scene: Nick walks with the doctors and nurses as they move Trubel through the hospital.

Nick: It could be a concussion. I couldn't keep her awake.
Nurse: She's wearing body armor.
Nick: She's a police officer, involved in undercover work.
Nurse: Okay.
Dr. Nicholson: What do we have?
Nurse: Female, undercover officer, involved in a violent altercation.
Dr. Nicholson: Start running the O2. Let's get the OR prepped just in case.
Nurse: Okay.
Dr. Nicholson: Yeah, let's get her up. Support that neck for me.
Nurse: Got it.
[Trubel's body armor is taken off]
Dr. Nicholson: Get that line ready.
[Indistinct P.A. announcement]
Dr. Nicholson: You brought her in?
Nick: Yeah, I did.
Dr. Nicholson: You gonna stick around?
Nick: Yeah, I'll be here.
Dr. Nicholson: Okay, I'll be with you as soon as I can.

Scene: Robby, Chester, and Johnny arrive at the dump.

Johnny: This is gonna be fun!
[They get out of the truck and start walking, and Johnny tosses a beer bottle]
Chester: God, I miss this.
Johnny: Quiet, don't want 'em to hear us.
[Chester burps]
Robby: [He groans] I don't care if this is a dump. They might smell that.
[Johnny holds his hand up and they all stop]
Chester: Got one, Johnny?
Johnny: Shh. [He woges his eyes] Come out, come out, wherever you are. There. Mr. Roly-Poly. [He retracts his eyes]
Rizzo: [He sees Robby, Johnny, and Chester. To a woman] Run!
Robby: Get him.
[The three of them chase after Rizzo and Johnny soon tackles him to the ground]
Johnny: I got him! I got him! Over here!
Chester: Whoo!
Johnny: Gotcha.
Rizzo: Let me go. Let me go.
Johnny: Get his pants!
Rizzo: Let me go!
Johnny: Pants him! [He laughs]
Robby: Yee-haw! [He throws Rizzo's pants]
[Rizzo grabs a bottle and hits it over Chester's head]
Johnny: Oh, whoa. That wasn't nice.
Chester: You shouldn't have done that.
Robby: No, he shouldn't have.
Johnny: Gonna have to teach this Reinigen a little respect.
Rizzo: [He woges into a Reinigen] No. No, no, no, no!
[Johnny briefly woges into a Klaustreich, and all three start beating on Rizzo]
Johnny (likely): Come on, rat boy!
Rizzo: Please! Please, stop!
Johnny (likely): Rat boy! Fat boy!
Chester (likely): How's that feel, rat boy?
[A giant shadow suddenly appears over them and there is a roar]
Johnny: Riesen-Ratte. [He runs away]
Chester: Oh, my God. It's real. Johnny!
Robby: Johnny! Don't leave us!
Chester: Johnny, come back!
Robby: Johnny!
Chester: [He screams]
Robby: Oh, God please help!
Johnny: No. [He starts to run away in fear]
Robby: Johnny!
Chester: It's coming! Oh, God!
Robby: Johnny help us!
[Robby and Chester both scream]

Scene: Nick goes to the waiting room to wait for an update on Trubel.

Woman on P.A. System: Nursing assistant to waiting area for senior care services. Nursing assistant to waiting area for senior care services.
Nick: [He sits down and looks through the stuff in Trubel's jacket. He finds a passport and 2 IDs] Lauren Cole? [He continues looking through the jacket and finds a bunch of money and a phone with a fingerprint scanner. He then finds a knife]

Scene: Adalind looks at the security monitor when Chavez' phone starts buzzing.

Adalind: [She answers the phone] Hello?
Meisner: Where's Burkhardt?
Adalind: Who is this?
Meisner: Is she with you?
Adalind: Who?
Meisner: I need to know if she's alive.
Adalind: Who is this?
Meisner: Adalind?
Adalind: Meisner?
[Meisner hangs up]

Scene: Nick looks at all the stamps in Trubel's passport.

Nick: [His phone rings and he answers] Adalind. Everything okay at home?
Adalind: I don't know. There was a phone ringing by your bed. It was Chavez' phone. I answered it; I thought it might be important. They asked for you.
Nick: A man's voice?
Adalind: Yes.
Nick: And he talked to you?
Adalind: A little. He wanted to know if "she" got here.
Nick: Trubel?
Adalind: He didn't say a name, and I wasn't gonna offer it. There's more-
Nick: Not over the phone.
Adalind: I hope I didn't screw things up.
[Dr. Nicholson walks up]
Nick: I got to go. [He hangs up] How is she?
Dr. Nicholson: Stable. CAT scan revealed no internal injuries. Probably would have been a lot worse if she hadn't been wearing body armor. Now, I'd like to keep her under observation for at least another 24 hours.
Nick: Well, can I talk to her?
Dr. Nicholson: I just gave her a sedative. She's still in a lot of pain.
Nick: Just to let her know that I'm here.
Dr. Nicholson: Okay. Just for a couple minutes.
[Nick goes into Trubel's room and holds her hand]
Trubel: [She opens her eyes] I knew if I could just get to you, it'd be okay. [She breathes heavily] I'm so sorry I didn't—
Nick: It's okay. I'm just glad you're alive.
Trubel: [Her eyes well up and she sighs] You have my jacket.
[Nick shows her the jacket]
Trubel: [She gasps] That's good.
Nick: Found a few things.
Trubel: There's so much to...
[Nurse Kane knocks on the door and walks in]
Nick: Just try and get some rest. They're gonna keep you under observation for 24 hours.
Trubel: [She gasps] I think maybe I can go now. I actually-I feel okay. [She tries to sit up]
Nurse Kane: No, no, no, no, no, no. That's not a good idea. Come on. You've been given a sedative. We don't even have your name yet. I know you're a police officer, but...
Trubel: Lauren Cole.
Nick: I can get you the rest of her information.
Nurse Kane: Good. Well, Miss Cole, you've had a rough night. You need to get some rest.
Nick: [Softly] Just try and sleep. [He and Nurse Kane leave the room]
Nurse Kane: These are her clothes. Do you have her license?
Nick: I do. Right here.
Nurse Kane: Thanks.
Nick: Oh, and if anything changes, call me. Here's my card.
Nurse Kane: Of course. I'll make a copy of her license.

Scene: Nick arrives home and pushes the motorcycle into the garage.

[Nick looks over the motorcycle and then takes a picture of the license plate and calls Hank]
Hank: [He answers his phone] Nick, what's up?
Nick: Sorry it's late. I got a license plate, just sent it to you. I need someone to run it.
Hank: When do you need it?
Nick: As soon as you can get it to me.
Hank: [Looking at Wu getting ready to go home] I've got just the guy. Hey, Wu. Everything okay?
Nick: That's what I'm trying to figure out. Thanks.
[Hank hangs up]
Wu: Uh, why am I here?
Hank: To find out who belongs to this. [He shows Wu the picture Nick texted him]

Scene: Nick gets out of the elevator.

Adalind: How is she?
Nick: She's stable.
Adalind: Could you talk to her?
Nick: Not much. But she knows I brought her in.
Adalind: I can't believe she's here. I thought she was dead. Is that her motorcycle?
Nick: Maybe. She might have stolen it. She was wearing body armor, carrying three false identifications and a lot of cash. This has got to be connected to Chavez.
Adalind: How did she know to come here?
Nick: I don't know. Look, when you called me, you said there was more.
Adalind: The guy on the phone recognized my voice. He said my name, and I think I recognized his voice.
Nick: Who?
Adalind: I'm pretty sure it's Meisner. He's the one who got me out of Europe, took me to your mother.
Nick: I am so sorry this happened. I thought I'd gotten us away from all of this. [His phone rings and he answers] Wu.
Wu: Hey, Hank's with me. I got you on speaker. I ran the plate. Motorcycle is registered to a Lauren Cole, 3618 Northwest 19th Ave, Apartment 505. So far, so normal. Then I pulled Lauren Cole's driver's license. You will never guess who it is.
Nick: Trubel.
Hank: You want to tell us what's going on?
Nick: I don't know what's going on. She showed up here pretty beat up. I took her to the hospital.
Hank: How bad is she?
Nick: There's no internal bleeding, but they want to keep her under observation for 24 hours.
Hank: Did she say why she's Lauren Cole?
Nick: No.
Wu: You need anything else?
Nick: Check out Lauren Cole's apartment. But do it out of uniform.
Wu: Copy. By the way, Ms. Cole's motorcycle costs 30 grand. And that's just the base model.
Nick: Given the fake IDs and the amount of cash she had on her, I doubt she's driving the base model. I'll check it out, see if there's anything else I can find.
Hank: Nick. Good to know she's still alive.
Nick: Yeah. [He hangs up]
Adalind: This is getting very complicated.
Nick: Yeah, it is. I got to take a look at that bike. [He goes down to the garage and sits on the motorcycle. He turns it on and looks at all the features. He pushes a button, and arrows shoot out of the back, so he quickly turns off the motorcycle, gets off of it, and looks at the rear of the bike]

Scene: Nurse Kane goes into Trubel's room as Trubel sleeps.

Nurse Kane: Open your eyes, honey. I just need to check something. [She tries to wake Trubel up] Come on, open your eyes. [She slaps Trubel twice] Open your eyes! [She slaps Trubel again]
[Trubel sleepily opens her eyes]
Nurse Kane: That's a good girl. [She woges into a Wendigo and confirms Trubel is a Grimm before retracting] You go back to sleep now. [She makes a phone call] It's her. We've got her.

Scene: Nick and Hank go to the hospital to see Trubel.

Dr. Nicholson: She's stabilized. All her vital signs are good. [He and Nick go into Trubel's room]
Nick: Shouldn't she be awake by now?
Dr. Nicholson: I don't know how well she slept last night, but after what she's been through, it's not unusual to sleep for quite a while.
Hank: [He comes into the room] How's she doing?
Nick: Well, okay, I guess. Will you call me as soon as she wakes up?
Dr. Nicholson: We will.
Nick: [He and Hank leave the room] Doctor said her vitals were good. I thought she'd be awake by now.
Hank: We have any idea where she was before she got to your place?
Nick: No idea.
[Hank's phone rings]
Nick: But you got to see this motorcycle she was riding.
Hank: [He answers his phone] Griffin. Where? Yeah, he's with me. All right, we'll be there. [He hangs up] Have to show me the motorcycle later. We got a case.

Scene: Nick and Hank meet Wu where Robby and Chester's bodies were left.

[Indistinct police radio chatter]
Wu: I checked Lauren Cole's apartment. Address is real. Name's on the mailbox. Mailbox is empty. Her apartment's on the fifth floor, but it is a secure building.
Hank: So you didn't get inside.
Wu: Oh, I got inside. Couldn't get in the apartment. The way to get in is to break in, and since you wanted to do this incognito, didn't push it. But somebody's gone to a lot of trouble-the other trouble-to make Lauren Cole seem real.
Nick: You get anything on the background check?
Wu: Nope. Lauren Cole is clean.
Nick: So what do we have here?
Wu: Meet Chester Avery and Robert Kyle. Truck's registered to Mr. Kyle, on the right.
Nick: They're pretty traumatized.
Wu: So are their clothes.
Hank: Puncture marks, scratches all over...
Wu: Somebody or somebodies really wanted these guys to suffer.
Nick: My guess is, it didn't happen here. Probably dumped in the truck, left here.
Hank: All right, let CSU have it.
Wu: Yeah. [He walks away]
[A phone rings]
Nick: One of 'em's got a phone. [He finds the ringing phone in Robby's pocket and shows Hank the picture of the caller]
Hank: I'd answer that if I were you.
Nick: [He answers the phone] Hello.
Selina: Where the hell have you been? Why aren't you answering your damn phone? You know I hate it when you do this.
Nick: This is Detective Burkhardt. With whom am I speaking?
Selina: Oh, God, what did he do now?

Scene: Nick and Hank go talk to Selina.

Selina: We lived together for three years. How did he die?
Hank: We don't know yet. We found Robert and Chester's bodies this morning.
Nick: We're sorry. We know this isn't easy.
Selina: I wanted him to stay home. I knew something was gonna happen there.
Hank: Where is that?
Selina: That stupid dump.
Nick: What dump?
Selina: The quarry on Oaks Bottom. Isn't that where you found them?
Hank: We found their truck in a cornfield.
Selina: What?
Nick: Someone drove the truck there. Their bodies were in the back.
Selina: And what about Johnny? Where's he?
Hank: There were three of them?
Selina: Yeah, they were all going there together. Johnny, Chester, and.. [Her voice breaks] Robert. [She starts sobbing and woges into a Klaustreich]
Nick: You're a Klaustreich.
Selina: [She looks at Nick, retracts, and gets out of her chair, backing away] You killed them. You killed them all!
Nick: It wasn't me. And I'm not gonna hurt you.
Hank: We're investigating their murders. We don't know who Johnny is, and we haven't found a third body. We need your help.
Nick: Was Robert a Klaustreich too?
Selina: Yes.
Hank: What about Chester and Johnny?
Selina: We all are.
Nick: What were they doing at the dump?
Selina: Having a little bit of fun. [She sits back down]
Hank: What does that mean?
Selina: They look for Reinigen.
Nick: Why?
Selina: They like to chase 'em, you know.
Nick: We need to find Johnny. Do you have his number?
Selina: I've been calling him all morning. He's not answering either.
Hank: We need his last name and where he lives.
Selina: It's Rodwick. Johnny's got a trailer on Wright Island. I'll get the address. [She walks away]
Hank: I'll call Wu, have him visit Johnny at the trailer.
Nick: We need to check out that dump.

Scene: Many Reinigen at the dump go into their underground hideout.

[The Reinigen look at Rizzo]
Charlie: He's gone. My prince. My poor boy. Did you find the other Klaustreich?
Phyllis: We found his trailer but not him.
Charlie: Find him. He's going to pay for the death of my son.

Scene: Trubel wakes up gasping after a nightmare.

Nurse Kane: [Shushing] It's okay. I'm glad you're awake. You must have been having a nightmare. I'm Christi, your nurse. How are you feeling?
Trubel: Okay.
Nurse Kane: I'll go get Dr. Nicholson. He'll want to see you now that you're awake.
Trubel: I, uh-I need to talk to the man that brought me here.
Nurse Kane: I'll make sure he knows. [She leaves the room]
[Trubel exhales deeply, groans, and sighs]
Dr. Nicholson: [He comes into the room] I'm glad you're awake. I'm Dr. Nicholson. Do you remember what happened to you last night?
Trubel: Not really. I have to talk to the guy—
Dr. Nicholson: Yes, we know. We're contacting the detective. I'm just gonna take a look in your eyes. Look at me.
Trubel: No, I have to go. [She tries to get up]
Dr. Nicholson: You got hit pretty hard last night. I'd like to do another CAT scan before we release you, just to be sure. [He shines a light in Trubel's eyes]

Scene: Renard watches Andrew Dixon's political ad with Dixon and Jeremiah Rogers.

Andrew Dixon in the Political Ad: Portland, Oregon, is one of the most beautiful cities in the whole world. I was born here, and I'm proud to call it my home today. Hi, I'm Andrew Dixon, and I'm running for mayor of this great city. I've been a city councilman for the last eight years. My district has been number one in job creation. And I've led the fight for fair business tax, pension reform, and wage equality. Let's do things better: listen to the people, pay attention to details, and face issues head-on. Portland has some tough decisions to make, and it needs a candidate strong enough to make them. My name is Andrew Dixon, and I'm asking for your vote. [Ad ends]
Jeremiah: [He turns the TV off] Then we'll have a narrator say, "Andrew is heartily endorsed by teachers, firemen, and Portland police."
Dixon: What do you think, Sean?
Renard: I think it looks good, and I think you have a great chance with or without me.
Dixon: I want you on this team. And I want you running this department, as chief.

Scene: Nick and Hank arrive at the dump.

Hank: [His phone rings and he answers] What do you got?
Wu: Hey, I've been trying to call you guys. Just got back from Johnny Rodwick's trailer on Wright Island. His place was ransacked. His car's tires were slashed. Trailer's front door was kicked in, windows broken. It was a mess.
Nick: Did you find Johnny?
Wu: No. Checked all around. No Johnny, no bodies.
Hank: Any blood?
Wu: No. Doesn't mean there isn't any. Got a CSU team going over it now.
Nick: We're checking out the dump now. Thanks.
Wu: You got it.
Hank: [He hangs up] We think Johnny killed the other two?
Nick: And trashed his own place?
Hank: Well, maybe we're not the only ones looking for him.
Nick: And maybe Johnny's still alive.
Hank: Unless they found him there and he put up a big-ass fight. How do you want to deal with this?
Nick: I'll see if I can piss someone off.
Hank: Sounds like a plan. Hey! I'm Detective Griffin. This is Detective Burkhardt. We're investigating a double homicide. The victims were here last night.
Mel: I was here last night. I didn't see anything.
Nick: The victims' names are Robert Kyle and Chester Avery.
Mel: What were they supposedly doing here?
Nick: They were Klaustreichs. Probably just came down here to chase some Reinigen for sport. You're under arrest.
Mel: For what?
Nick: For murder.
Mel: [He woges into a Reinigen] Grimm don't scare me. [He retracts. To Hank] What are you, some Klaustreich friend of theirs?
Hank: Hey, three Klaustreichs show up here last night and you're not bothered at all? Well, you seem to be a little bothered now.
Mel: You want to arrest me, arrest me. I got nothing to say.
Nick: And we're not gonna arrest you. We just wanted to know who we were dealing with. [He and Hank walk away] So we got Klaustreich and Reinigen.
Hank: But the Klaustreichs are dead?
Nick: Yeah. How'd that happened?
Mel: [He goes down to the underground hideout after Nick and Hank leave] Two detectives were just here looking for the guys we killed.
Charlie: I don't give a damn. They're not gonna find anything out here.
Mel: One of 'em was a Grimm.
Charlie: If he comes back, we'll kill him too.

Scene: Selina talks on the phone, tearfully.

Selina: If he had just stayed home... [She hears someone trying to get into the house] Oh, hold on. You know, I think someone's here. Let me call you right back.
[Johnny goes into the house, slamming the door behind him]
Selina: Johnny?
Johnny: You need to hide me.
Selina: What? You scared the crap out of me. The police were here. I thought you were dead. What happened to Robby and Chester?
Johnny: They didn't make it.
Selina: I know, but what happened?
Johnny: [He goes from one window in the house to another and looks outside] There's nothing I could have done. I barely got away.
Selina: You're scaring me, Johnny.
Johnny: It's not what you think. The thing that attacked us, it's like... [He goes and takes another look out the previous window] nothing I've ever seen before. It was huge.
Selina: What was huge?
Johnny: The legend. It's true.

Scene: Nick and Hank go talk to Monroe and Rosalee.

Hank: We have two dead Klaustreichs and a third one missing.
Nick: They went to the dump last night to chase some Reinigen.
Rosalee: Ugh, Reini-bashing.
Monroe: Yep, Saturday night at the dump is a popular Klaustreich pastime.
Rosalee: Although I've never heard of the Klaustreichs winding up dead.
Monroe: No, anyone winds up dead, it's the Reinigen.
Nick: Well, the Reinigen we questioned wasn't afraid of anything.
Rosalee: Hmm.
Hank: Can a Reinigen take on three Klaustreichs?
Monroe: And live to tell about it? No way.
Rosalee: Not unless we're talking about Riesen-Ratte.
Monroe: A Rat King? Come on, that's not real.
Nick: Why not?
Monroe: Are you kidding me? A 20-foot-tall Ratzilla that can't be stopped? I mean, where's a thing like that gonna hide? Somebody would have seen one somewhere.
Rosalee: There might be something in one of your books.
Monroe: I'm sure there is, but I'm telling you, it's just an old rat's tale. [He goes to look through his books]
Nick: The hospital should have called by now.
Rosalee: Who's in the hospital?
Nick: Trubel came back last night.
Monroe: What?
Rosalee: She's alive?
Nick: Yeah, she was in a bad fight. I don't know any more than that. I haven't had a chance to talk to her yet.
Monroe: You don't know where she's been, what she's been doing?
Nick: Nothing. [He calls the hospital]
Man: [Answering] St. Joe's.
Nick: Hi, this is Detective Burkhardt. I want to check on a patient. Lauren Cole.
Man: Transferring.
Rosalee: Lauren Cole?
Nurse Kane: Hello, Detective, this is Nurse Kane. I'm sorry we haven't called yet, but she's not awake.
Nick: Shouldn't she be awake by now?
Nurse Kane: It can take a while when a body's suffered this much trauma. I promise I'll call as soon as she's awake.
Nick: All right. [He hangs up]

Scene: Dr. Nicholson wakes Trubel up.

Dr. Nicholson: Lauren. Lauren. I need you to wake up. Lauren...
[Trubel wakes up]
Dr. Nicholson: Hey. How are you doing?
Trubel: Okay, I guess.
Dr. Nicholson: We found something on your CAT scan. It appears that there's been swelling in your brain. We're going to be moving you to the ICU, and we're going to have to operate.
Trubel: What?

Scene: Monroe reads about the Riesen-Ratte.

Monroe: "Few mythological beings pose a threat as powerful as the Riesen-Ratte, also known as Les Rongeurs Roi, or Rat King." That's kind of a nice drawing, don't you think?
Rosalee: Yeah, as long as it stays on the page, it's beautiful.
Monroe: [He chuckles] Okay, here we go. This is maybe why one's never been found before. "According to legend, the Riesen-Ratte only forms when the Reinigen are under attack. Fueled by fear, scores of them join together in what is known as the Erklarend."
Rosalee: Join together? What does that mean, they hold hands or something?
Monroe: I don't know. Hold on. There's more. "These Reinigen have little genetic diversity. In their woged state, they appear to stimulate the growth of cancer-like cells. As these cells cannot differentiate which body is the original vector, they merge into each other, causing the individual to become part of the greater whole."
Nick: Anyone understand that?
Rosalee: I think it means the whole is worse than the sum of its parts.
Hank: I don't like rats. I don't care what size they are.
Nick: [His phone rings and he answers] Hello?
Selina: They're here! They've come for Johnny!
Nick: Selina? Where are you?
Selina: They found Johnny hiding at my place. They said they're gonna take him back to the quarry and make him pay for what he did.
[Mel breaks in Selina's door]
Selina: Oh, God! Help me!
[Mel hits Selina, knocking her to the ground]
Johnny: [He is dragged outside] Let me go! No!
Nick: Selina!
[The line beeps and Nick hangs up]
Hank: They have Johnny?
Nick: Sounds like they have her too.
Rosalee: Well, if you're dealing with the Rat King, we're going with you.
Monroe: Uh, we are? [He looks at Rosalee] Oh, no, yeah, we are.

Scene: The gang arrives at the dump.

Monroe: [To Hank] Hey, you got an extra flashlight?
Hank: [He gives Monroe a flashlight] If they have him here, where are they?
Monroe: First of all, how many are there?
Nick: We have no idea.
Rosalee: How many does it take to make a Rat King?
Monroe: That wasn't in the book.
Nick: You getting something?
Monroe: Yeah, a lot of somethings. [He sniffs] None of them very helpful. [He sniffs]
Nick: Wait. [He hears metal clattering] I hear something. [He hears faint pounding]
Rosalee: There! I see him.
[The person ducks]
Hank: Where'd he go?
Nick: Sounds like from in there.
Rosalee: This whole mound could be some kind of... nest.
Hank: You think they're inside?
Nick: If there is an inside.
Monroe: There's got to be an opening somewhere.
[Everyone looks for an opening]
Rosalee: Hey, think I found it.
Monroe: What do you got?
Nick: Some kind of tunnel.
[Hank cocks his shotgun and leads the way]
Rosalee: Ugh, it stinks in here.
Monroe: Yeah, anybody else getting the creeps?
Nick: There's a switch. [He flips the switch and the lights come on]
Rosalee: Whoa. Some dump.
Hank: What the hell is this place?
Monroe: Looks like some kind of throne room.
Rosalee: Oh, my God. [She exhales sharply] We're too late.
Hank: Must be Johnny. Can't call it in from here. No service.
Rosalee: Guys, over here. [She finds Selina]
Selina: [Upset] They killed him. They all took turns. They made me watch! It was so horrible.
Rosalee: We've got you now. You're safe.
Hank: Where'd they go?
Selina: Everywhere. They were about to start on me when someone ran in. Next thing I knew, they were all running in different directions.
Nick: Let's get her out of here.
Rosalee: You're gonna be okay.
[They all exit the nest]
Hank: All right, let's get Selina back to the car and call this in.
Monroe: Uh... Nick. Nick! [He sees people running around]
Selina: Don't let 'em get me!
Charlie: You shouldn't have come, Grimm. This is not your fight.
Nick: You murdered three people.
Charlie: They came here looking to hurt us. Leave that Klaustreich and go.
Selina: No. No, please don't leave me. He'll kill me. [To Charlie] I didn't do anything to you. I told them not to come here.
Charlie: You hid my son's killer. You're as guilty as they are.
Hank: You try anything and you're the first one to go down.
Nick: You're under the arrest for the murders of Robert Kyle, Chester Avery...
Charlie: They killed the prince!
Nick: ...and Johnny Rodwick.
Various Reinigen: Never! They came to kill us! They killed our prince. Never! Never! We deserve revenge! Never! You need to leave or die! Never! [The Reinigen start running away]
Hank: Where are they going?
[Suddenly there are snarls and roars, and a Riesen-Ratte stands up]
Hank: What the hell?
[The Riesen-Ratte sniffs]
Monroe: It's the Riesen-Ratte.
Nick: I guess it's not such a myth.
[The Riesen-Ratte roars]
Selina: Don't kill me.
Nick: Keep her back.
[Hank shoots the Riesen-Ratte and it snarls]
Hank: How are we supposed to stop this thing if we can't shoot it?
Nick: I don't know. It's not supposed to be real.
Hank: Well, we better figure out another way to deal with this.
Nick: Yeah... run!
[Everyone starts running]
Monroe: We're gonna need a pretty big trap. I'm also thinking we're pretty good bait.
Nick: Through there!
[Everyone stops running]
Monroe: Okay, just for the record, this is not a good hiding place.
Nick: We're not hiding.
Rosalee: Then what are we doing?
Selina: He's gonna kill us!
Nick: We have to get him under the wire.
Monroe: What? Why?
Nick: We need a trap. That might be it.
Hank: Might be?
Rosalee: [She checks to see where the Riesen-Ratte is] Well, he's not moving.
Nick: We need to get him tangled in it.
Hank: How?
Nick: [To Selina] You need to woge.
Selina: What? No, he'll kill me.
Nick: If you don't do it, he's gonna kill us all.
Selina: I can't!
Rosalee: Do it!
[Selina breathes deeply and woges. The Riesen-Ratte catches her scent and roars]
Nick: Hey! You want her?
[The Riesen-Ratte roars]
Nick: Come get her!
[The Riesen-Ratte starts walking towards everyone]
Nick: [To Hank] Shoot the power line.
[Hank aims]
Rosalee: Anytime, Hank.
[Hank shoots the power line, electrocuting the Riesen-Ratte, and it falls to the ground]
Hank: I think it worked.
Rosalee: Is it dead?
Nick: It's not moving.
Monroe: Do you think the high voltage could have, like, pulled it back apart?
Nick: [Looking at all the people on the ground] I did not see that coming.
Monroe: There really are no winners... in this.

Scene: Meisner stands outside Nick and Adalind's loft.

Adalind: [Singing to get Kelly to fall asleep] Da, da-da-da, da-da-da-da, da-dum, da-da-dum, da-da, da-da-da-da, da-da-da-dum, da-dum, da-da-dum [She lays Kelly down]
[Kelly coos]
Adalind: [A motion detector alarm goes off, and she goes to investigate and sees Meisner appear on the security monitor. Meisner spots the camera that is on him outside, and Adalind sees him mouth the words, "Adalind, let me in," directly to the camera] Oh, my God.
[Flashback of Adalind saying goodbye to Meisner in "Synchronicity." Adalind then opens the door to let Meisner in]
Meisner: I don't have much time. I'm glad you're all right.
Adalind: You too.
Meisner: I'll tell you as much as I can. But I have to see her.
Adalind: Who?
Meisner: Trubel. I know she's here. I tracked her bike's GPS.

Scene: The gang walks through the dump back to the cars.

Selina: My boyfriend and two of my friends are dead because of them.
Monroe: Um, not to be argumentative, you know, considering, but...
[Nick's phone rings]
Monroe: ...they did all come up here for a little Reini-bashing. Did they not?
Nick: [He answers his phone] Hello?
Meisner: Trubel's life is in danger. Where did you take her?
Nick: Who is this?
Meisner: There isn't time. I know she came to you.
Nick: I'm not telling you anything until you tell me who this is.
[Meisner hands Adalind the phone]
Adalind: Nick, it's me.
Nick: Adalind. Where are you?
Adalind: At home. It's Meisner. He's here with me. I didn't know he was coming, but I trust him.
Meisner: [He takes the phone back] Listen, you need to tell me where she is. If you won't, you need to go to her. They'll find her.
Nick: [He exhales deeply] St. Joe's. I'll meet you there. [He hangs up] I've got to get to the hospital. It's Trubel.
Hank: Listening to the sirens approaching] I'll handle this.

Scene: Trubel is pushed through the hospital by Nurse Kane with Dr. Nicholson and another man walking behind her.

Nick: [He runs to Trubel's room, but he sees that she is gone. He goes up to a nurse] Excuse me, where is Lauren Cole?
Nurse: I'm sorry, she's been moved to... [She checks her computer] intensive care.
[Nick starts running and sees Trubel being pushed into an elevator, but he is unable to get to the elevator before the doors close. He sees which floor the elevator is going to and uses the stairs. Trubel is taken out of the elevator and pushed towards an exit, but Meisner comes in through the doors]
Meisner: I have an emergency.
Nurse Kane: Check in upstairs.
Meisner: You don't understand. This is the emergency. [He pushes Trubel's bed out of the way]
[Dr. Nicholson and the other man woge and Meisner starts fighting them, and Nick soon arrives and joins in]
Meisner: [He pauses for a second] Burkhardt. [He starts fighting again]
Nick: [He pauses for a second] Meisner. [He knocks Dr. Nicholson out]
[Nurse Kane runs away]
Meisner: Get her out. I'll get the other one.
[Nick gets Trubel as Meisner stops Nurse Kane from escaping in the elevator]
Nurse Kane: [She woges into a Wendigo] Occultatum Libera!
Meisner: You know, I'm getting a little sick of hearing that. [He walks into the elevator as the doors close behind him]

Scene: Nick arrives home with Trubel.

Adalind: The bed's ready.
[Nick lays Trubel on the bed]
Trubel: [She moans] Nick... they're gonna take me.
Nick: Not anymore. You're with me.
Trubel: I have so much to tell you.
Nick: Shh. Later.
Adalind: Is she all right?
Nick: Yeah, thanks to your friend.
Adalind: He was there?
Nick: Tell me about Meisner. I need to know who he is.
