Genträger

  • Does anybody know what a "Gentrager" is ? Monroe and Rosalee mentioned a "Keresite Genträger" in the discussion of Wesen genetics .

    • In German, "gentrager" means "gene carriers" so it is assumed that a Kehrseite Gentrager is a human with recessive Wesen genes. However, some members of the Wiki have suggested that they might be half-Wesen similar to Renard.

    • I agree Sheldon.

Me think a Wesen is a Wesen because he/she can woge.

So Renard is (at least, we don't really know about his father yet) a Half-Wesen because he can woge and Kehrseite-Genträger just have the recessive Genes without the ability to woge.

Otherwise they wouldn't be called Kehrseite, would they? ;)

    • Renard appears to be a special case. As far as I know, a Human/Wesen pairing will result in either a Wesen or a human with recessive Wesen genes, as said above. If the Royals are human, then Renard should be a fully-woging Wesen. But, as we know, he is not. Also, n a mixed-Wesen relationship, there are some "health risks" for the offspring. Could Renard's half-woge be the result of a "health risk"?

These facts have led me to believe that Royals are not all that human either. We know that Grimms differ from humans, and are possibly a different breed, but what if Royals do as well? What if the reason that Adalind's child with Royal blood is such a a big deal is because Royal blood actually has special properties? Royals may be another breed of human, with the sight of a Grimm but not the physical abilities? Maybe Royals are genetically more cunning or charismatic than humans. Or their (ancient) ancestors were lucky and got super rich (probably thanks to a Grimm or some Wesen) leading to their royalty status in the modern day (and far earlier.) If anyone has heard of the 39 Clues series, it seems to me that the Grimms are like a combination of the Janus, Tomas, and Madrigal bloodlines, while the Royals are like a combination of the Lucian, Ekaterina, and Vesper bloodlines.

Woah! Long post much? Sorry, got carried away with my thoughts.

    • Antother breed of human? hmm possible, indeed.

I dicussed this subject yesterday with a friend of mine, also a big grimm-fan. she said, in season 1 there was a mention that all royals are Löwen. I do recall having heard sth like that, but I can't pinpoint out in wich episode it might've been...

I bet that it was "Last Grimm Standing", but It could be anywhere after that. I think that by now we know that they aren't Lowen, or any known Wesen for that matter.

    • well, thinking in history, long ago was belive that royals get their right ro rule from god/gods... so is possible this "gift to rule" is in fact some genetic ability and if so, they are in fact diferent from other humans.. I don't think they have the Grimm sight, but maybe they got some other ability
